He really isn't that good.

I am not a fan of things like some X is the best in world.. neither I am a fan of Yuvraj.. But are you sure that he isn't that good.. If he isn't that good then Stuart Broad must have been not that bad for being hit in all the directions in all the 6 deliveries to the maximum :p

To be honest, Yuvraj has good technique and good aggressiveness in his game play. But still, he has to climb a bit more to become as consistently reliable. :) Just because one explosive innings, people talk about him as No 1 and just becos of one duck in very next match, people will say, some X should replace this immature bloke. In short, all these( X is no 1 of all times, X is better than Y, X is THE BEST for ever) makes no sense and its just rubbish.;)

Leave him alone, sury. He's an English. No English can ever be a fan of Yuvi. Everybody knows why! ;)

World's No 1 batsman right now is Gautam Gambhir. I mean, just look at this guy, he has scored a fifty in almost all the matches he has played over the past six months. Can you name me another player who is as consistent as Gauti right now?

I'd take Chanderpaul, Gayle and Smith over Yuvraj or Gambhir anyday. Just because India have won lots recently, you forget people like Chanderpaul who gets the word consistency and takes it to a whole new level. Gayle can dominate so much more than Yuvraj or Gambhir. Well as for Graeme Smith, he takes the consistency of Chanderpaul and the agression of Gayle and rolls it up into one package. Oh, and if I go and look at the ICC rankings, all those three are ahead of Yuvraj in the ICC Rankings, and Gambhir isn't even in the top 10.

Why bother post then?

And you have been here long enough to know to not bother replying then.......

Shut up trying to make everything racial

Gambhir has to be one of the most reliable openers today, if not the most. He just doesn't get the big runs that often.

Why do you take everything so seriously? I didn't mean anything by that post. Have you heard of something called "jokes"? I was just joking. Where's the question of "race" or "personal attack" coming here??? Was there really any need to make a mountain out of this molehill?

And regarding Gambhir, go and open cricinfo and check Gambhir's stats. You may not include Gambhir in your XI, that's upto you, but can you name me another player of this decade who has been able to score 1000+ runs in a calender year by playing just seven test matches in that year? Smith and Gayle are not bad, Chanderpaul is very close, but admit it or not Gauti is currently the best batsman of the world, name me another player who has been as consistent as Gauti in all the three forms of the game? Last year, Gauti's average was 70+ in the tests,YES 70+, far far better than that of Smith's, SNC's, and Gayle's.
One more thing, I'm not being a Precambrian, but I think everyone should admit the reality..
One more thing, I mean nothing by this post, in case someone links it with "racial abuse" or things like that.

That's why last year his average was close to 75 in tests:rolleyes:

oy one more thing, look at the ICC rankings and tell me who's #1 in ODIs. Yea the best ODI batsman at present is Chris Gayle.

I agree with Dare. We all know the rating system is messed up but it is reliable enough to tell us who is the best Batsmen at present. However if Yuvraj continues this spell until next year, Then he will become the best ODI Batsmen.

In the meantime, I think this thread should be closed and re-opened a year later because he is definetley not the best batsmen presently. There have been much more consitent batsmen...

not if Gayle keeps his form and owns England in the home ODIs:p. and we will see how Yuvraj does in NZ.

True. He'll probably succumb to the seam and swing in NZ...

Just because it's a "joke", doesn't mean it isn't racial.

And anyway, no Yuvraj isn't the best ODI player in the world. He's in good form though and he's a good player but he is not the best.

People have cracks at the Indian fans all the time. We all know why English fans can't like Yuvraj, it's because its the only team he is awesome against :p. His yearly England bashings is the only thing that has kept him in the team really, and the confidence that it gives him has started to make him a better player. Nothing racial about it, it's just Yuvraj owns England a bit too much for an England fan to like him. :p
