Zimbabwe Triangular Series 2010

Kohli had to first make sure that he is playing in team XI. They can't just give a captaincy who hasn't proved to be reliable for team till now. If Raina is not going to captain, say, then obvious second choice would be Karthik still & not Kohli.

Has Karthik made sure that he is playing in first XI consistently?

No.
His role is just a part time/Stand in Wicketkeeper as of now.:yes

He is second experienced player in this team, no way raina will remove him.

Oh my bad.

I was trying to say that he's stand in Keeper for the major team. My mind went somewhere for a moment:facepalm.

And,we're discussing about who should be named captain, not who should be taken off.:yes

BTW Suren bhai, I still give Kohli more marks than KKD when it comes to captaincy. Even He's a good captain with awesome amount of experience, but he was not successful many times:yes.

I agree with those who say that the last match is not an upset. In fact, what we had was two evenly matched sides facing off. Zim have shown a lot of character.
It just goes to show that performances in the IPL count for little in the longer version of the game.
See,what has happened to our bowlers. We could have done well with the likes of Sreesanth in this series.

Did I read correctly that Dinda, Vinay and Udesh were our frontline bowlers.

Is there some charity going on. I thought you had to earn your national cap. Dont be surprised to see Jadeja as captain of India in 2 years with the way BCCI loves him.

Man... I don't know any of the bowlers on this Indian team save Mishra... maybe I should watch the IPL next time. :p

Run outs have delivered India much the same sort of situation they gave Zimbabwe, but the bowlers should still take confidence from it, especially Dinda.

Impressive from Dinda - probably bowled too many slower balls at the beginning but superb last over. Yadav was better too...needs to work on his bowling at the end of the innings. Yadav is definetely bowling slower than what he was bowling in the IPL - but, at least he's consistently 138-139 and on target. Dinda was consistently 140+. Solid from Mishra, Ojha and Jadeja too - good comeback from Jadeja after being hit at the beginning of his spell.

The batsmen should chase this really. But, you never know with these Indian youngsters. Hoping for a better start from Murali Vijay and KDK today.

Was nice to see a couple of seamers touching 140ish consistently, ball after ball. I hope we stick with them in the Asia cup as well and just include Zak if he is fully fit. I`d go in with Dinda, Zak and Yadav along with Ojha who again looked class today. That would be a decent bowling attack to start of with. I also would not lose hope on Ishant Sharma. There is no reason why he`d become useless in one season. The guys at the academy have to work on him and get him back on track before the tour to SA and the WC 2011. Ideally he should`ve played the county cricket this season to work on his action and get stronger. T20 cricket makes him look a lot worse than he actually is. He looks a lot better in tests. Even in the series against SA, he looked good in phases. Same with Sreesanth. I`ve not yet lost hope on our seasmers. We could still make a decent seam attack before the World Cup if we work on it.
The board has decided to act foolish by not allowing them to play county cricket this season not picking them for the A team tour like in case of Ishant or Sreesanth.

Are you kidding me? You're choosing Dinda after one good match to be in the frontline attack for getting Kulusekara and Mendis out? He had a poor game against Zimbabwe. Wow is really all I can say.

I'm confused as to why Irfan Pathan didn't get a chance this series. I have no idea who these seamers are, but they don't belong on the international scene from these two matches.

This makes no sense. Indian second string team got whooped by Zimbabwe and now they're whooping Sri Lanka. Cricket hasn't made much sense to me in the past few months, especially with England winning the World T20.
