With this software you can check the performance of your computer: PassMark PerformanceTest - PC benchmark software

It will give you then a score, which is called the Passmark rating.

By this you can see how your computer stands among others. Mine score is 350,8 and I don't think that is high.

Here are the Top 20 Computer Systems: PassMark Software - PerformanceTest System Benchmarks - Fastest Performing PCs The highest is now at 8543.32.

Here are the Bottom 20 Computer Systems: PassMark Software - PerformanceTest System Benchmarks - Worst Performing PCs The lowest is now at 1.86.

Can somebody also check what the score is of an average computer? I can't find it on the website.

In short these are my specifications:

CPU: Intel Celeron D 352, 3200 MHz (24 x 133)
Memory: 512 MB (DDR2-533 DDR2 SDRAM)
Videocard: NVIDIA GeForce 6600 (128 MB)

I got 461.6. I'm due to upgrade my PC soon anyways. Been 5 years since I've upgraded the RAM and such.

I posted above the three important specifications of my computer. This current computer is actually way faster then the computer that I had 0.5-1 year ago.

That's 7 times better then my computer. Of course it's good. Can you tell your specifications?

RAM: 4 GB(DDR2)
GC : Intel P 45.
CPU:Intel Core quad, 2.66 GHz

main specs are here. Rest i couldn't understand, It wa showing a lot of videos and all that stuff.

That's interesting. You don't even have a seperate videocard. Intel P45 is an integrated chipset on the motherboard.

And you've got a pretty good system there. You've also installed a 64 bit Windows version? With that Windows version the system will make more use of the memory.

I think his cpu boosts his score by heaps.

With the graphics section it's quite funny seeing all the pictures race by :D

yeah, I don't have any separate Video Card. Well I'll be getting an Nvidia one in about two months or so.:banana2

I think my RAM is DDR3, I got a bit confused and that can be a big boost to my system specs.

DDR3 RAM would also boost the score by a lot too.

Today I bought 2 GB DDR2 533 MHz. The annoying thing is I can't place my current memory (512 MB DDR2 533 Mhz) alongside this memory. I have two slots on the motherboard. If I place them in the first situation (one in slot 1 and in slot 2) I hear a peeping sound. If I place them in reverse situation the computer starts, but never gets to the part of the screen, where you could log on to the computer.

Anyway, just one seperate memory works. I've included the 2 GB DDR2 533 MHz. I checked the score with the software and it gives me the same result: 350,8 :mad

On the other hand I really feel the difference with 512 MB and 2 GB memory.
