Screw opportunity, they need more funding. The amount of money Bangladesh gets for being a Test Nation could be put to better use developing the associates that actually show promise.

Maybe one day when Ireland are a Test nation, all those stolen players will go back, but now with good ECB training

I would love to see that happening what Tum Tum has said.

That will be good for Ireland cricket with likes of Morgan,Joyce etc returning back.

But that is highly in doubt and is next to impossible.

With the ODI win I believe Ireland have gained 8 points in the ODI rankings. They've got now 34 points. If they win again they will gain another 6 points and will come above Zimbabwe. If they lose it will -3 for Ireland.

Whether they will lose or not the next match. They have already gained some points from this ODI series. If they lose today's match they will have gained 5 points (8-3).

I am not sure, but these ODI rankings are pretty important for the formation of future World Cup groups.

And I should use the words 'ratings' for the above, because ICC has a different term for 'points'.

If anyone is making a mark for the next team to be given test status, it's certainly Ireland, they have performed well consistently for a long period of time. At both the last T20 WC and the last actual WC. Ireland have performed pretty well, now give them back Morgan and Joyce and they actually have a very strong side. Of course everyone wants Afghanistan to be there, but they have only come through recently and haven't been performing at the same level for the same period of time as the Irish have.

Ireland should be in before Afghanistan. Ireland have even played well against top teams whereas Afghanistan have no experience.
