Results like yesterday make the case even stronger for two tiers, and that is principally to get the non-Test nations into Tests/ODIs in the same structure as the Test nations and not simply so the Test nations and their fans can cry about not playing such and such, or getting demoted, or how it might cost them money etc.
A league with Ireland, Zimbabwe, West Indies, Bangladesh, Kenya and another side or two would produce great cricket in my view and generate interest that fades the more and more you watch the same sides producing the same results ie the current Test "championship".
