Who is better - Khan or Anderson?

Anderson is England's Zaheer.

Zaheer is India's Zaheer.

No doubt Anderson will be far more deadly then Zaheer in home conditions but if you look whole as a bowler Zaheer is better then Anderson becuase he can bowl well in any condition.

Obviously Zaheer Khan Is The Best, he can bowl in any condition and he's got the intelligibility to get out any batsman in world..

I think "James Anderson can't bowl effectively in flat conditions" is a tired and petulant argument.

You only need to look at his form in Australia to see how much he has improved since 2008 on flat pitches.

Then you have to keep in mind his performance in the WC. Australian pitches have quite good bounce and are not completely flat.

Over-all Zaheer is a much better bowler. Anderson depends on swing a lot whereas Zaheer works the batsmen out, he is a wily bowler.

Zaheer Khan, just because he has proved himself on flat Indian wickets.

I would rate Anderson slightly above ZK right about now. Anderson can swing the ball more and bowls at a much higher pace. ZK is skilful in that he uses his variations very well but Anderson is the bigger threat.

Zaheer slightly better overall, because he has proven he can take wickets on the roads in the sub-continent and he has bowled well overseas in key places like ENG, AUS, SA, NZ where quick bowlers get help.

When the ball is swinging in ENG, AUS, SA, NZ Anderson is slightly more lethal though. Since he has some big 7 wicket hauls in such conditions, Khan doesn't have such big hauls when the ball is swinging.

Anderson though however has yet to do the former like Khan in the sub-continent given he has yet to bowl their since he peaked as a test bowler last winter in the Ashes. This "new Anderson" has yet to prove his wicket taking acumen in those conditions. But he certainly did prove during the 2010/11 Ashes, that he has the skills i.e "reverse-swing" to be threat when he eventually bowls in SRI, PAK (neutral) and IND within the next 2 years.

So presuming Anderson conquers the sub-continent, that will bring him even with Khan, not better than him.

Anderson in swinging conditions and Khan in the sub continent.

If we are talking about the future then Anderson cause Khan is about to burn out any day now. I voted for Khan though simply cause overall career analysis he is better

Zaheer Khan anyday. Pitches where Anderson would pick up 2 wickets, Zaheer will get 4. Not that Anderson is not talented but Zaheer thinks the batsman out. He doesn't have too much pace like Anderson and they both can swing the ball pretty well but the thing that makes Zaheer a better bowler is that he can think of smart plans to get the batsmen to play a wrong shot and then get him out.
