Honestly, there's way too much being said about the declaration. In my opinion, we had batted enough and should have declared when Jadeja was on 150. Big deal being made about milestones. The situation wasn't that Jadeja was on 375 and was within striking distance of breaking a world record.

Anyhow, back to the win- I think India can win at home, even if you make Siraj the captain. Way too one-sided and way too much importance being given to Rohit's captaincy here. Sri Lanka never turned up and I'd be damned if they do turn up at Bengaluru as well.
England have won 5 out of 5 of their last test matches in Sri Lanka. They aren't a particularly good side. And neither are Sri Lanka.

Honestly I don't think Rohit is a great Test Captain either. I mean he is too much into that white ball mode and does not really look to seize opportunities. So there are better chances of the opposition's tail wagging in his stint.

Again that's something India have struggled with for ages. We really need a Rahane kind of Captain if we are to further dominate this format.

You still think so? 174 and 178 doesn’t say so!

Right now we’d beat SL almost the same way, even in their home conditions.
I don't disagree but I don't think there was anything wrong with the declaration.

As @icyman suggested too much is being made out of that declaration.

They have some real quicks in their team. If the match is being played with the pink ball, it would be interesting if the Lankans get some early wickets.

Fernando, Lakmal could be a handful- that said, still feel India will be top in Bengaluru. Not expecting any surprises here. The main concern with Sri Lanka seems to be their batting. They simply haven't turned up in recent times.

The pink ball is overrated. Last year pace bowlers took 2 of the 30 wickets to fall and Joe Root got 5 for 8.
It depends on what kind of surface we play on. I am certain we are going for a pace friendly track given India's fast bowling resources and Sri Lanka's struggle against it. Although there are chances that I maybe proven wrong.

I remember the India-Bangladesh game at Kolkata back in 2019. Everyone apart from Kohli struggled against pacers on that track and Ashwin-Jadeja hardly bowled 20 overs in that game.

And it's the latter. We are expecting a dry surface for the pink-ball. Which means the spinners are going to thrive better in these conditions.

Nothing much wrong I see in what Rohit did there. Very much happens when someone like Embuldeniya is bowling on a slow turner like this one.
