Rizwan has more than proved himself over the last couple of years. He didn't have the best world cup but other than that he's been great. Shan has also proved himself not only overseas but in the international team. His place isn't as solid yet but he's making progress

Three anchors is way too much. Shan only stays if he can be a middle order hitter. I doubt he can.

Bold opinion but I feel that PCB should have not made Shaheen play the world cup. He wasn't his 100% since the first match vs India. A clear pace drop could be seen in his speeds.

It was better to make his recover fully and give him the much needed rehabilitation before making him take the stride again.

World Cup is important but a young player's career is even more important. Especially when he is touted to be one of the best in the world.

He was cleared by a renowned medical panel of multiple knee specialists in the UK. Of course he needed more time to regain match fitness.
He just hurt himself in the same place, unfortunately.

Hopefully it's not that bad and he can be back for the PSL. Definitely rest him for the home Tests against England and NZ

This is my ideal T20I team, for reference
What I have heard in some sources the injury is bit severe. He is in lot of pain in the hotel room.

Shan Masood said (i think in a press conference) that his knee ligament tests are clear so far. Pain doesn’t necessarily mean a serious injury.

You are speaking in hindsight though. If top notch doctors clear him, i see no reason to hold him back.
Doctor clears you based on reports and outside-the-ground requisites to deem someone fit to play.

But once the players starts practicing in the nets, the wear and tear happens and the real-time picture is understood. Here is where the selectors and the board has to take a decision.

Shaheen wasn't looking comfortable while bowling. His pace wasn't as quick as he usually is. There was always a niggle here and there. Pretty sure the staff and the board members must be aware of this fact.

They could have managed Shaheen better.
