The Pant selection was weird. I thought they would rest him for this test and let Jurel play entirely. There were rounds of a pre-existing injury to him and India might just have shot themselves in the foot here with punt on Pant. So far a decent test, would have liked Gill to have scored a few more, but the others standing up makes up for it. Remains to be seen if Sir & Lord can now take India to a fighting total from hereon.

Given that India had lost the toss, 100-1 was an excellent start. But England have pulled things back.

With only Sundar as the credible batsman left, India will have to bat out of their skin to reach 350 - which traditionally is a decent score versus other teams but not against this England side.

Stil, let's hope our bowlers come through and make England fight for runs.
