Screw the number of Tests, it's the number of innings that counts. Ponting is 30 innings and 7 centuries behind. That's 1 century per 4.28 innings.
ok this is sounding more good.
23 tests may become 46 innings.

and for ponting it's difficult to pass his record.
also,Whether he can make it or not, it's always evergreen-excitement to watch Sachin batting anytime. ( well atleast, for me ) :banana2

Gilly and Tendulkar open the batting. Gilly makes his 100 in 15 overs, gets out, and Ponting comes in.

I think after the Aus vs World XI debacle its safe to say this wont happen again. Any free time that is left will be devoted to domestic 2020s now.
I highly doubt we will ever see the Asia XI vs Africa XI series again either,.
Probably, though I don't agree that Sachin has had it all that easier than Ponting.Ponting will easily pass him and Ponting's centuries will have been mostly on much touger batting tracks against much tougher opponents.
Shouldn't you be hanging outside the West Indies locker room with all the other groupies? :laughTake cover :shout
