17th Match, Group E: New Zealand v Pakistan at Bridgetown

Damn Umar Akmal's gone! I thought he would have been the ideal man to guide Pakistan in this chase. Now either Misbah or Salman Butt has to get a fifty and others have to chip in. Might be a close game this!

Afridi takes a lot of gambles.. it didn't work last time.. it worked today

There's a difference between gambling and non-sensical mate. He made the same kind of changes today as well, luckily it paid off but i can guarantee you, more often than not this scattergun approach would be found wanting. Not to mention the idiocy of going with 7 bowlers to bowl 20 overs is beyond me.

Lol Misbah is just not as good as he used to be couple of years back, he is blocking so much deliveries now and after a little while he will look to play a big shot to make amends and get out. :facepalm

Cricinfo on Butler's over

4.4
Butler to Misbah-ul-Haq, no run, 85.1 mph, slower ball, full outside off, hit to short cover

That's faster than the other deliveries :facepalm

No idea where Butt learnt how to play so aggressively in T20s, but he should perhaps give the same manual to Misbah...or at the very least inform Mr.Haq that it is indeed a T20 match rather than a 50 over one.

Misbah currently 2 off 11 balls. Hope once he gets in, he displays his aggressive side.

Misbah will only tee off once the required run rate if over 10 :p

khalek added 3 Minutes and 11 Seconds later...

Well he's gone now, you gotta be in terrible form to get out lbw to Butler.

Like I said at the start, we really needed the extra batsman at number 8. Especially since we had 6 bowlers. :(
Still as long as Butt's in there, we got hope.

Still a tight game but Pakistan need to put the pedal down....

Damn, this is one tense match...Butt would need to hog the strike though.

Pakistan favourites for me.....first ball dot....tense...both teams need this.....brilliant contest this, top stuff!
