Just a quick note: to avoid the glitch where the bowlers leg hits the stump, always bowl wide of the crease when coming over the wicket. The only time the stumps break is when you come close to the stumps from over the wicket.
i know that so always bowl wide of crease acyually in tat match it happened twice with lilas bowlin

Hmarka and gougie I am aware of the same and therefore make it a point to bowl away from the stumps however in both cases with lonewolf they were from first deliveries of the over and I wasnt aware the bowler was so close to the stumps. In fact on both occasions on noticing the bowler had hit the stumps I moved the cursor away from the stumps unfortunately wasnt quick enough the second time leading to the loss of a wicket (to which an immediate apology message was sent).. .. not sure why he didn't mention it.

I propose adding the following rule:
7. No deliberate bowling close to stumps though I am quite sure none of us even try to do it. Incase batting team loses more than a wicket due to the glitch they have an option of restarting the match or restarting the innings or continuing the game though they would have to decide on it before the next ball is bowled. If the batsman does continue and the same happens more than 2 times in a game. Batting team would be awarded the win.

I use the rule as more than "one wicket lost" as we do not want anyone taking advantage of the situation where the bowling team has the match all but wrapped up and an accident such as this would lead him to start the match from scratch. A loss of 1 wicket in such manner can be equated to a bad umpiring decision however losing more than 1 like this would be very unfair.

As always I look forward to your approval and responses on the rule before implementing and posting it on the first post.

i am no longer taking part in this tournament The game is a complete waste of time I play fairly and i am getting less andless players who dont like to play fairly and a good

It is unfortunate to have lost out on kellerwwfc considering 2 days ago he was all in for committed players in the tournament and so soon has decided to opt out. I hope messages from Thandamilk and jaynffc have convinced him to stay on as a committed player else I guess another one goes down to the patch :facepalm:crying

In case kellerwwfc still decides to opt out Gougie if you want you can switch groups to players playing from UK and USA.
If we do not hear from kellerwwfc by tonight you can make your decision and hopefully get your first game going. Also in that case request all to look for a replacement would be great if we can still have 10 players.

oh lilas about apology msg it did not came to my mind
i m not even thinking u did it delibrately or somethin like that bro
i know we all here are genuine players

my purpose of sayin that was hat we can start the match from scratch
as it is more fun to play a full match
i just wated to say that since there were few incidents like glitch happenin twice and u being signoff psn so it wud be nice to play the game for beginnin

I meant mentioning about me trying to move the ball away from stumps on realizing i had hit the stumps. I understand u werent accusing me of deliberately doing it I still wanted to put across what happened on my side ... Also on the glitch r u ok with rule 7 ive posted above.

I d prefer continuing from where we left primarily to get done with games ASAP since I am off for a week Friday onwards so was hoping to finish our game today and play eflindor tonight with return games with u n akill on Wed and Thursday so tourney can progress without me being around.

I hope u understand bro. Let me know when u d like to continue.

Sounds like a good match and a patient chase, well played both.

Lilas - I just saw the points table on Page 1 - must say it looks great. Could you please update that with my & Keller's completed match? And, my match with PsyMax was an away match for me (NZ).

ThandaMilk added 10 Minutes and 7 Seconds later...

i'll be able to play from around 5pm tommorow bst...if anyone will be online..

Jay, mate lets get our 2nd game today. I should be around 5.30PM your time if you wanna get a game then. Cheers.

Hey lilas, yea I know you didnt do it on purpose, at the start of a new over the bowler always likes scoot back to close to the stumps lol.

Sorry about the delay guys but it is Xmas, however tomorrow I have the entire house to myself and hope to finish 1 match against all group A opponents.

lilas i wasnt saying anyone does it intentionally, as i know all too well that its easily done especially first ball of the over, i agreed with hmarka as i know not everyone knows about this, it was just to let anyone know who didnt know already that bowling wide of the stumps cuts out the glitch, and it was meant really to avoid the game freezing rather than loosing a wicket, if i realise i have bowled too close i move the cursor away from the wickets just in case it glitches which stops the player loosing a wicket, but it doesnt always stop the game from freezing up on the next delivery.

A good way to stop the game from freezing if the stumps are broken is to wait for a second (bowler will run in and glitch). Then move to round the wicket, then back to over the wicket and then wide. This will usually stop that weird situation where you select a delivery but he bowler refuses to run in.

This is why we needed the patch :(

Thandamilk- Was a great game. One of the best I have been part of, think lonewolf missed a point by saving the last 3 overs for spin.
I am glad you liked the table. I hope everyone is keeping an eye on their stats and point out if there is an error. I have corrected the error with the home game. I haven't updated points and stats for kellerwwfc's game cause there is still uncertainty if he is part of the tournament.

Gougie, lonewolf and Hmarka thanks guys for the understanding. From my side I would be more careful trying to check first ball of every over as to where I am bowling from. Also Hmarka thanks for the pointer on how to avoid freezing in such instances.

Any update if kellerwwfc is in or out?

Well his custom fielding was buyond a joke. I put two men on the boundary in the first 6 overs to make it realistic with 2 close catcher (slip, point) he had 11 men around the bat on a day 5 pitch . I think custom fielding should be used fairly and realistically
That is all i am going to say to put it in a good way

kellerwwfc added 5 Minutes and 55 Seconds later...

i can confirm, i am selling the game to c e x 2mo and no longer taking part in the tournament
Very much looking forward to the next cricket game as this game is very disapointing

kellerwwfc I have played Thandamilk a few times and I feel he is a fair player. I think there is a very thin line on defining fair play. To each his own.

RIZZYX has confirmed participation for Pakistan. RIZZYX was part of a tournament I have played before and is a very good fair player. Request all players from group A to add his PSN

Group A Match 3 : NZ vs SAF in Auckland

PsyMax (SAF) and I (NZ) completed our 2nd game today. It turned out to be a great game with PsyMax completing a brilliantly well crafted chase of a modest (by current tournament standards), yet defendable 170.

Batting first, other than a burst between overs 6 and 11, he never allowed my batsmen to take the game away from him. Tactically, he bowled 4 overs from Steyn on the trot from over 12 onwards. Tight bowling, combined with some unpredictable lag, ensured that NZ couldn't build off a decent platform of around 143/5 at the 15 over mark and collapsed to 170 all out on the last ball of the 19th.

Chasing, SAF were 3 down with not many on the board. Miles followed up his 31 ball 63 with a spell that accounted for 4 middle order wickets, but SAF built their innings off 2 splendid half centuries. It looked like a mini collapse as they went from 98 for 2 to 127 for 7, however Kallis played an innings worthy of a MoM award and saw his team home without any hiccups.

Fantastic game Psy, well played mate.

Final scores: NZ 170 all out; SAF 172/7 in 19.3
