1st PS3 T20 Champions Trophy- Completed

Right guys in group A here i come, Im confirming my participation in the tourney, ill add you guys onto my freinds list later if your not already on there.

Probably can get a game or two in, if any one will be on after 11pm uk time.

I'll be on in 10-15 mins from now and we can get a game if you're around mate.

Just had my first game with Thandamilk.

Pakistan (Rizzyx) won the toss and elected to bowl first on the smallest ground in AC09, the game looked to be a high scoring encounter but the slight lag was to prevent that, Pakistan started brilliantly restricting New Zealand to 33 for 8 with Shoaib Akhtar and Umar Gul doing the damage with the new ball.

But the match turned on its head with a sensational 9th wicket partnership of 100+, NZ gave the spinner Shahid Afridi a nightmare taking him for almost 100 runs, NZ reached 197/9 off their 20 overs, a total they felt was short of being competible on a batting paradise.

Pakistan started welll but kept losing wickets regularly and were 7 down before the introduction of the spinner, Adrifi made the only handy contribution with the bat, managing 37 but Pakistan fell well short in the end being restricted to 127 all out.

Final Scores:
NZ: 197/9 - 20 Overs
Pak: 127 All Out - 14 Overs

New Zealand Won By 70 Runs.

In addition to Rizzy's note on the match, scorecards are attached.

At 33/8, and the way he was cutting through my lineup with Shoaib and Gul, I thought this was going to be one big embarrassment for me. Since I couldn't put bat to ball against Shoaib, I'd sent in my tail ahead of 3 specialist batsman. Once Shoaib was done tormenting me, Numbers 9 & 10 put their heads down, cut out lofted strokes till the 17th over, and put up a 154 run partnership, broken in the 19th over.

I really thought 197 was going to be difficult to defend on this small ground. Rizzy was off to a flyer to boot - I think 35/0 after 2 or 3 overs. Mills and Gillespie combined for 6 wickets for 20 runs.

Fantastic match overall. Rizzy - really liked playing you mate.

gg mates
thandamilk u really seem to be getting into good and realistic games now
may be the tourney is getting steam now with good and realistic games

great game guys. Group A seems to be getting more and more interesting with each game.
Was on last night looking for a game but could only find players from Group A online. Hope to complete 2 games tonight. Would be on 1800GMT onwards

To make the tournament more realistic and avoid issues like the one faced between kellerwwfc and Thandamilk game wherein once a player is certain of defeat he doesn't put up a fight I am adding 2 new rules to the tourney:
1. In case of a tie on positions NRR would be applicable. I trust all players would be checking their NRR in case I make any errors.
2. Just to mantain interest for a player even if he cannot qualify for the semifinal I am initiating a plate SF/F wherein teams finishing 3rd and 4th in both group would be contesting the plate knockouts.

Let me know what you feel about the same.

finished my second game with efflindor

Venue : Sydney

Aus won the toss n chose to bat
they were of to a cautious start and then picked up only to be stopped in the middle overs by Eng
Aus were all out for 80 in 14 overs

In reply Eng made 81 in 8 overs no majoe hiccups there Pieterson scoring quick 38*

NZ vs SL in SL

Jaynffc and I completed our return match earlier yesterday.

SL won the toss and batted first. They lost 2 quick wickets in the first over, but Sangakarra (44 of 19) came out and blasted his way through trouble. At 47/2 in less than 4 overs it seemed like SL were going to put up a massive total. The batsmen seemed to be stuck in one gear though and were all out for 77 in 9.4 overs.

NZ chased the total down in 9.2 with the loss of 2 wickets. McCullum guided the chase with 49.

Final scores: SL 77 all out, NZ 79/2; NZ won by 8 wickets.

had my first game with Gougie(Bangladesh)

Venue : Sydney

one of the best game i have played

Ban won the toss and elected to bat
they had a rather cautious start
the openers had a good partnership and accelerated the innings in the middle
one of them i don remember the name made a century
the spinners of eng panesar and pieterson were hammered for more than 20 rpo
Ban finally made 186/4

in reply Eng had a very good opening partnership of around 60 or so
with both openers Strauss(43) and Bopara(47)
but then Eng collapse to 111/5

then Shah and Collingwood had a partnership
game was swingin from one side to other with Eng needing a constant RR of around 10 RPO
then came the spinners and it helped the RR somewhat and Shah came to rescue with quick 38

Eng again had a mini collapse in the end but finally were home n made 187/8
with 5 bowls to spare

Just had a game with PSYMAX78 (South Africa)...

South Africa playing at home in Cape Town won the toss and elected to bat first on a good batting track, they got off to steady start in the first six overs only losing one wicket and that to of a run out, after which Pakistan opted to go all defensive and bring in spinners from both ends, 8 overs of spin on the trot, a magical ploy it seemed, as they picked up 5 wickets between them at 7 runs an over. Shoaib Akhtar returned to polish off the lower order and SA were all out for 107.

Pakistan came out all guns blazing, and reached the total in only 6.5 overs, with Kamran Akmal falling one short of his half century off only 24 balls, whilst captain Yunus Khan stole the show with a blazing 52* from only 15 balls.

Final Scores:

SA: 107 All Out - 17 Overs
Pak: 108/2 - 6.5 Overs

Pakistan won by 8 Wickets

Guys I will be on today at 5pm CST (in about 4 hours from this post) and will be on the rest of the night.
