1st Test: England v Australia at Nottingham Jul 10-14, 2013

What else could that noise have been?

They have been many times where there were random noises out of nowhere. I say inconclusive, because there was no super slow mo and noise check like in Australia and hot spot is horrible quality. Could hardly see any pixels.

That was inconclusive! Wtf

Cobblers. There was a clear nick on audio even in real time and afterwards, Snicko made it anything but 'inconclusive'. There was a clear sound and the only place that sound could've come from was bat on ball. Incidentally, why the hell doesn't the Third Umpire have Snicko??

Anyway, if we didn't have that Third Umpire shocker with Agar, we'd be looking at a 100+ run thrashing here, so even if it was 'inconclusive' (which it wasn't), then it's kind of evened itself out.

And to paraphrase the great Sir Alex: The Ashes. Bloody hell!

Take off the Green and Gold glasses for a second - there was a clear, albeit faint, mark on the bat. And Snicko confirmed it either way - just as the bat went past the ball, there was a spike on Snicko. As for 'no noise check', the commentators clearly said the Third Umpire had asked to hear audio!

1-0. Deal with it.

I couldn't see a spot, quality was off. But the spot was already there.

Anderson showing why it's only Dale Steyn who is in his class. Superb effort from him to bowl so much and to such a high standard. Won us the match.

Whether there was a spot or not (which there was, as confirmed by Snicko), justice has been done. You seem to be conveniently forgetting the shocker by the Third Umpire with Agar's stumping, along with at least one other bad decision going against England.

In the end though, Broadie's Oscar Winning performance could well have been crucial! :D :D :D :p :p

I was convinced it was out in real time and I'm normally a pessimist when it comes to things like that. I was surprised the players weren't more excited/confident in the review

Anderson is just sheer class. Thank God it was only cramp and not some sort of calf injury.

Agreed; even in real time, the nick was loud and clear.

The inconclusive one? The benefit of the doubt one?

The one where his foot was clearly on the line, therefore he should've been given out? Only one man on the entire planet thought Agar was in, and that was the Third Umpire.

Congratulations England but wow will they need to improve pretty shoddy performance barring Broad, Bell and Anderson, I mean this really should have been over a long time ago. Has to be Bresnan in for Finn at Lords.

Finn had a bit of a shocker, agreed. As to the other point, it would've been over a long time ago if the guy with the TV screen could do his job...

What about Onions? He always did a good job for England - seems to have just disappeared the way Hoggard did.

Yep, I am a massive Onions fan hes probably my favourite England player. I would definitely pick him but I'm just assuming that the selectors will want Bresnan ahead of him.

Hope not. Lord's. Finn's home ground. Hope they give him one more chance. Needs to pitch it up more - stopped it ever since the dismissal of Ed Cowan in the first innings.

In other news, Test cricket > life.

Wonder why it takes these guys so long to figure it out. Took Broad the best part of two years (until India 2011) to start pitching it up, maybe its something to do with Saker??
