1st Test: England v Australia at Nottingham Jul 10-14, 2013

Anderson might very well be the difference between the two teams!! If he can bowl after the lunch then England will win, if not, looks like Aussies would win!! Regardless of the eventual result.........What a match!!!! I thought the 2005 series was the best ever.....this one might come close :D!

There is Pakistan-West Indies ODI match about to take place & it seems many of us Pakistanis have instead switched to Ashes.

Due to that PTV Sports are no longer broadcasting The Ashes and Star Cricket isnt working.I want to kill the cable operator ATM.

Not sure that's fair, how many last wicket draws have we salvaged in the last few years?

They aren't wins, obviously. But they are signs of a team with a good mentality.

I'm talking about bowling, not last gasp batting rearguards which too many of our fans refer to at the first opportunity.

Anyway, I can see the aussies getting within a few runs, an appeal given just shy of the finishing line and the aussies getting a duff 'un they can't review................. Or maybe Broad will get the rough end of a review, the third umpire doing to him what he did with Agar and Prior. Or maybe England will win it with a review as the ball heads off to the boundary off Haddin's pads only to be given LBW on review...........................

Must admit I thought this was all over at 8 and 9 wickets down, much like I thought the aussies wouldn't reach 200 in the 1st innings, well not at 9 down I didn't. If we all knew what was going to happen it would be boring, the one thing about this Test is it isn't boring and low scorers tend to be the most compelling.

I am doing that too now and yeah i didn't switched to the Ashes because I support Aussies in cricket not Pakistanis :)

Very evenly poised, just hope Australia don't lose concentration and momentum during lunch.

What a game this is turning out to be though.

I think the lunch interval will make the breakthrough, even if not immediately. Momentum was with the aussies, 60 runs off 13.4 overs at over 4 rpo and England looking like things weren't going to go their way.

Maybe they should look at tense finales and play on to a conclusion wherever there are less than X runs or wickets required, within reason obviously. It would or will be such a shame if the match is decided by a break.

I think I owe you an apology for calling you delusional when you said Aus might win. :D

Funnily enough Nostradamus was just on Moviemix, although I gather a lot of events were fitted to his predictions rather than necessarily premonitionary.

I thought there was a chance right up until wickets 8-9, the aussies are doing it the hard way as are England.

Could Broad make himself any more unlikeable?? Don't understand at all what he was doing, pretty much signals to the batting side that you're out of answers.

I'm talking about bowling, not last gasp batting rearguards which too many of our fans refer to at the first opportunity.

I can't really of many times we have failed to bowl a side out for reasons other than weather or batting on too long.

I can remember bowling Sri Lanka out in about 4 overs to force a surprise win though.

If Aussies win, this has to go down as not only one of their most famous wins in history, but, most famous win by any team in recent years.
Great game this, goes to the fifth day, some exceptional work by both teams in all three departments, turning to any side at any moment. Test cricket <3
