You have a point .. Although, on a personal level I really don't care who wins. I would rather have CSK lose as soon as possible so guys like Dhoni, Raina, Jadeja can get some rest before yet another international series within a week's time.

Only reason I watch these games is because I will basically watch any remotely significant cricket match going anywhere in the world :P

Both worried and excited about Lahore.

They don't have the batting or the bowling to take on a quality side. The batsmen are mediocre at best, with the bowlers being the same. Hope they can win atleast a game or two.

Don't underestimate Cape Cobras with the likes of:
Greame Smith - retired
Hashim Amla
JP Duminy - injured
Dale Steyn - injured
AB de Villiers - plays for the Titans
Rory Kleinveldt - injured
and a lot of young talent.

Fixed. :p

I am interested to see how the South African teams go though, after following some of the last domestic season, and South Africa's tour of Zimbabwe. :)

I voted for the Cobras in the poll, but considering the injuries they have, I think the Dolphins have more of a chance. The Cobras had to bring Charl Langeveldt out of retirement to bolster their attack.

Cricinfo went drunk again last night. Not only they described Ryan ten Doeschate's dismissal instead of Pat Cummins. The fact that RtD was unbeaten and that the bowler described in the dismissal-Ashwin went wicketless and as if it was not enough, Cummins actually was out run out!

Cricbuzz never goes drunk... Correct and pleasing commentary. :tick:

Just realised that Sehwag will be playing tonight. One of my fav batsmen ever. Look forward to it. A guy whose rise and decline were as maverick and swift has his batting. In the lengthy career that he had, between his rise and decline, what the guy did though, was magical.

Wow Maxwell is playing ... it seems Kings XI are full strength I guess, barring Johnson. They were unlucky to not win the IPL final, they were by far, stumbled at the final hurdle, and I think with them at full strength, I suppose, they would be spot on to win CL T20.[DOUBLEPOST=1411048897][/DOUBLEPOST]Some talk of Sehwag getting a WC ticket if he does well. While I would love Sehwag there, as I am a huge fan, but I don't think that is happening. Realistically, Sehwag is well past his best, and the WC team more or less picks itself. With Rahane doing well at the top in Eng, and with Rohit and Shikhar there, I don't think the Openers' slot is even remotely open for anyone. And this is without even mentioning the questionable wisdom that would involve recalling, a player, even one with the legacy of Sehwag, based on some T20 performances, and that too for an event as big as the WC.

Lets face it the only purpose ANY T20 serves is money. No one sensible can make the case that T20s are so popular because the quality of cricket on display in T20s is very high.

While money is one factor for T20's in general (and there is nothing wrong with it), the other big case to be made in favor of T20s is that it interests the casual fans a lot more. Not every cricket fan is a purist *scoff* and T20s provide casual cricket viewing without diluting on the basic aspects of cricket (i.e. bowler trying to get batsmen out, and batsman trying to score as many runs as possible).

CLT20 on the other hand is pure money, because it is still searching for its identity

CLT20 is a new tournament so that it is still searching for identity is not a surprise. Having said that, while it should ideally be the biggest tournament in T20s, I doubt it will ever get to that status.

Also T20 does dilute the basic aspect of cricket, of bowler looking to get the batsman out, because in T20, the bowler isn't looking to do that at all. He just wants to restrict runs. Having said that a 'casual' fan is not going to get the difference those two things anyway.
