Hats off to McLaren, playing that shot to Lee!

Also Thandi Tshabalala has the best name so far in the tournament.

Good knock by McLaren, he needs to be moved up the order given how far in class he was above the other batters.

Terrible batting by the eagles. Their bowling wasn't to bat but their frailties with the bat showed up once again. They really are missing the international quality that the rest of the teams have.

The international quality isn't such a huge issue, afterall year after year the Eagles compete - and win - domestic trophies without the star power of international teams. The only reason why they don't have such players is due to the lack of money ploughed into sport in the Free State, you just have to look at the Cheetahs team, each time we blood a good player someone with bucks takes him the following season.

Besides, even without all that star power the bowlers did pretty well, definately missed out on CJ de Villiers though. The batting wasn't a case of them just being useless, I still think the order was a stuff up and maybe a case of nerves.

Anyone notice that in Phil Hughes's short stay that he'd actually changed his technique a little? Doesn't have that pronounced movement of his left foot towards the leg-side anymore. Didn't stop him playing a terrible shot, but he's certainly not closing his body off as much anymore. Good to see he's gone away and improved his pretty terrible technique. Immense talent, but had an awful technique.

Hughes is that sort of bloke, he was never going to keep the same technique that got him dropped there was always going to be something changed. The terrible shots should go away with time.

Great win for NSW, they did it easy in the end. Rorher's cheeky little sweep off the last ball was really classy. I didn't see any of the bowling but judging by the figures, it seemed like we bowled fairly well.

Henriques has splattered the stumps all over the place like a toddler's dinner. 7 down.

Can I input that in for a Battrick commentary line?

Hughes would have connected but the pitch had very low bounce.

He was the 1st man out and he knew nothing about the bounce, but yeah it still was a silly shot.
