4th Test: England v Australia at Leeds

Batting

England will need close to 600 runs in third innings. I dont see this batting line up getting there,

You are right Sid England's batting is indeed a little weak.
I was going to post before this test that English commentators are over rating England to win the Ashes.

Australia is still the stronger team.

You could sense the Aussies gaining momentum again on the last day of the third series. And we all know that cricket is as much about psychology as tactics and skill. Nothing however can help me to understand the abject weakness of our batting line-up, particularly the middle order. The only reason we have managed to do as well as we have is down to Mr Strauss and the tail-enders. What is going on? Some of the shots played yesterday, admittedly with strong bowling, was just so frustrating and dissapointing. Back to square one; who can bat for us? I know it is easy to criticise in front of the telly but these are professionals. If I was to commit the same kind of mistakes in my job I would be out on my ear, full stop! But what are the alternatives?

why do you think Samit Patel would replace Bopara? because they are both Indian?

Patel is a bowling allrounder who bats lower down the order, Bopara is a attacking batsman. The only similarity I see in them is their ethnicity.

Pretty shallow of you.

I could swear Samit bats at 4 for Notts?

Pretty sure Samit does bat pretty high. He was more a batter all rounder when I did my research on him for the fantasy comp.

You know your've had a bad day when Stuart Broad's your best preformed player :p

I missed the last session but I've heard he bowled fairly well, I'm guessing Anderson never recovered.

I meant when he bats for England, he sure as hell does not bat 4

He wouldn't be batting at 6-7 in a test match like he did for England in the ODI's he played in.

Fair enough, I will eat my hat then. Still think Shah would bat higher than him if they both played together

Where is Bob Willis when you need him?

The question for me is whether there will be more pace on day 2. Geez, could be a short game.

we will be lucky to see get to day 4.

Funny how we seem to lose series in just 1 session. Jamaica and now Leeds just in this year alone

Good to see that Stuart Broad doesn't feel he has to acknowledge the umpire when going up for an LBW shout :sarcasm

I hate it when bowlers do that.

He has been warned before for doing that. Brett Lee does it a bit too
