4th Test: England v Australia at Leeds

Ah well, at least I didn't have to suffer that smug but brilliant arsehole scoring another hundred. Classy knock though.

Unlucky Clarke missed out on the hundred.

I like to see Australia play the whole day and get a lead of atleast 500,

Bat till the middle of the last session. Should be 300ish up by then. Then try and get a couple of wickets. Thats probably the plan. Can't trust English weather.

Clarke's had four scores of 90 in his test career now, what's the record?

Doesn't Michael Slater have it.

I think Steve Waugh had something like 7 or 8 dismissals in the nineties. Maybe he holds it?

Flintoff's had a few as well.

Dravid and S Waugh both have been dismissed 10 times in the 90's, followed by Michael Slater with 9, Inzamam and Kallicharan 8, Hayden and Tendulkar 7, and a whole serious of guys on 6. Clarke's got 4.

Steve Waugh had 10 90's but two of them were not out's.

Well I am a die-hard English fan and have supported them for many years but I get so frustrated at being in this place all too often: we are a side thats built around a couple of characters and when those characters can't deliver we fall apart. We lack balance and penetration. When, oh when, oh when will we have this one magic little thing; consistency? Sorry to rant on but it drives me nuts. Strauss is a good opening batsmen and he seems the only one remotely possible of scoring runs at the moment but he is not a leader and he is not a captain. Could I do a better job? No, but then again I don't get paid a lot of money to practice this stuff day in day out and turn up to play with what is supposed to be a solid game plan. What is Broad doing in there? Surely there are other candidates? Where is Sidebottom? Where is our middle order? WTF is going on? The most disturbing moment for me yesterday, and I nearly threw my cup at the TV, was to see Strauss on the balcony having a laugh with England 75 for 6...really, really pisses me off. Thats not leadership thats just "couldnt give a s***". Credit to Australia. What ever way you look at it real quality comes to the surface and crap sticks to your shoe.

Too bad for Clarke, but North is looking very solid here, hopefully a big partnership with North and Hadds.

Start of the Afternoon Session boys.

Another interesting Straussiviation; only bowler looking like he is actually playing test-cricket isn't asked to bowl!? Why n' Onions pas? Ah well, what do I know.

I hope Strauss puts Collingwood or Bopara on. I`d like to see some medium-pacers atm.
