5th Test: England vs Australia at the Brit Oval

Swann deserved MOTM by far, 8 wickets in that match. Still well done to Broady

ODI
1)South Africa
2)India
3)Australia

Test
1)South Africa
2)Sri Lanka
3)India
4)Australia

:D
I'd tolerate it from the Brits, but if there were any number of Australians not crying into their pillows, you'd be just provoking a fight.

Have to disagree, Broad took apart their middle order (a strong one) in the all important first innings, as well as his vital runs. The pitch wasn't as condusive to his bowling as it was for Swann's either (although I think Swann did alright too).

Exactly, Indians shouldn't be poking fun considering how they take defeats.

Such emotions, but i don't have quite the same feeling as i did in 2005.

Freddie had tears dripping down his face during the presentation, poor bastard.

Phil, we need a few avvies of Strauss and the urn so we can post after eachother and have like a stop motion of him lifting it. :D

Tbh I think the Aussies are prob more bothered about losing to us than losing top spot. :D

Well I posted because 1st time after many years Australia have got this position in ODI and Tests and moreover they move from 1st to 4th.. Sorry if it hurts you.

What Gas said.

2005 was that much more special for several reasons:

- It had been such a long wait

- It was one of the greatest series ever

- The Australian team was formed of Legends...and Simon Katich. :D

Tbf to Katich, he was one of Australia's best players this series.

The one thing that is better this year is that I'm in this country, and not stranded in Rome where nobody cares!

2009 has been no-where near the standard of 2005. Never will I don't think, there won't be the McGraths, Warnes, Langers, Haydens, Gilchrists for the Australians, and there definately won't be a Kevin Pietersen in that form or aggressiveness, never again an Andrew Flintoff, and as much as I hate to say it, Ashley Giles will never again turn his arm over and offer up such rubbish that the batsmens get lapse about batting and get out.

This series has been fun, but not exciting. Glad to see Steve Harmison getting amoung the wickets, he has been, on his day, a real good bowler even though mentally he's not right away from England. Swanny and Broady deserve some applause, they've really done there best here, and Strauss, well I wasn't a fan of him being chosen as captain but no one can argue with that.

Australia dropping down the rankings? All it'll take is them to retaliate on us in the ODi games and also in the Champions Trophy, and then all those gloating Indians will be shown the real wrath of Australia i'd imagine.
