A Heart of Gold: A Pok?mon Story (Chewie v Iridium v Hedger)

A Heart of Gold - Part 7

Ilex Forest
This forest was slightly creepy and full of icky bugs. Wandering around I found a guy who was looking around lost. It turned out he was looking for his master's Farfetch'd that had gone missing in the forest. Wandering around I found them but they kept running away from me. I managed to sneak up behind them without them hearing and grab them. Once I had both I went back to the guy. He was standing there with his master, who gave me HM01 - Cut, for my help. This would be very helpful to get through the forest. While I was here, I caught a couple of Pokemon, a level 6 Paras and a level 6 Oddish.

Further on in the forest I found a man headbutting trees for some strange reason. Talking to him, he was trying to make Pokemon fall from the trees. He offered to teach my Pokemon headbutt so I could also catch Pokemon like this. I was really excited so I ran everywhere headbutting trees and catching Pokemon. I managed to catch a level 5 Heracross, a level 4 Aipom, a level Pineco and level 9 Exeggcute. I was very happy with the additions to my team.

I also saw the Kimono girl again. Talking to her, she seemed extremely confused as to why I thought I knew her. She was lost so Croconaw helpfully showed her the way. In the gatehouse there was a person with a Butterfree who gave me a TM. Didn't really find it useful though.

Route 34
There were a number of trainers along this route. However, my Pokemon were much stronger than they were. I must be a great trainer. I came across Lyra further along the route who introduced me to her grandparents. They ran the daycare and showed me how it worked. Seemed like a great service to provide. Afterwards, Lyra and her grandparents gave me their numbers. Lyra's grandmother seemed quite happy that I had Lyra's number but we both insisted to her it was nothing. As well as this, there were a number of new Pokemon on the route, and I managed to catch a level 12 Drowzee, a level 10 Ditto and a level 10 Abra.

I was now at the big city. At the centre of Johto was the sprawling metropolitan of Goldenrod City, with heaps and heaps of buildings everywhere. It had the railroad, and the department store, and was the home of my next challenge, the Goldenrod Gym.

You've already caught 7 more pokemon than me and I'm up to Ecruteak City as well :p

I hope you weren't planning on spending another week trying to get enough coins to get a Dratini :p

----------

I should just go back and catch the pokemon I haven't already I guess :p

Well I don't have much time so it could take me a while...

I think I'll decide to get the dowsing machine or whatever it is and then go back, pick up my Eevee, train it up to evolve into Espeon, go back to New Bark Town, and then follow my tracks to find some hidden items as well as catch the pokemon I didn't earlier, mainly so you can catch up :p

So I'll probably post my update soon.

Not a bad idea at all :p

A Heart of Gold: A Pokemon Story ? Part 9

I went back to the flower shop before I left Goldenrod City and the shop owner gave me the Squirt Bottle which would help get rid of the tree on Route 36. I then went to the department store and bought a few Full Heals before I left.

Route 35

I continued north onto Route 35. There were a few trainers around but they didn?t seem too tough, so I used the opportunity to train my pokemon up more. My Togepi grew to level 17 after the second battle and it started to evolve. I was so happy as I watched it evolve into a Togetic. After that, I decided to focus on training my other pokemon more. One of the trainers had a level 2 Voltorb. What a stupid trainer. The trainers didn?t pose any challenge though which disappointed me. I decided to go catch some pokemon before I continued on and added a Nidoran to my team before I got a call from Gina telling me she had an item for me. I decided to go back to Route 34 although I couldn?t remember who Gina was. I found her at last and she gave me a leaf stone. I was delighted and thanked her. It could come in handy so I pocketed It, ready to use it if necessary. I went back to Route 35 and found myself another Nidoran but this time it was a male, so I caught it. I also found the TM66, Payback, and after I found that, I went through the building to move on. There was 2 ways to go and the person at the counter told me the Pokeathlon Dome was to the left, so I decided to check that out first.

Pokeathlon Dome

I walked forward and a guy stopped me before leading me towards the Pokeathlon Dome. It was a nice looking building and I was looking forward to participate in the challenges. He told me his name was Magnus before he went inside. I had a look outside first and there was somebody selling Aprijuice which I had no idea what it was, so he gave me an Apriblender. I wasn?t sure about any of the Aprijuices so I just left and went inside. Whitney also came and went on about the pokeathlon. She then told me that she?d get me a jersey. She gave me one before running off again. I tried the stamina course first, using my Quilava, Togetic and Dratini. I went horrible at the first event but my pokemon completely dominated in the relay taking first place and in the brick smash, the third and final event, I came second. After the points were added up, I came third, in a very close encounter, losing by 7 points to 1st and 4 points to 2nd. I received 235 points for that performance. I completely dominated in the speed event though, outscoring 2nd place by 50 points, with 346 points. I got the hang of it pretty quickly and picked up a fair few medals, hoping to get enough points to buy some good stuff, including a Thunder Stone, a Rare Candy and a Nugget.

Bug Catching Contest

I decided to head off but there was a guy standing next to the door leading to the National Park. He said today was the bug catching contest, so I decided to give it a go. I took in my Quilava and I was given 20 sport balls. The guy also told me that I?d get to keep whatever last pokemon I caught, which was alright. I ran around in the grass and the first pokemon I found was a Beedrill, which I caught after using 4 balls. After that, I didn?t find many pokemon that were any good but finally came across a Pinsir after about 20 minutes, so I caught it, pretty easily in the end, only having to use one ball. I then decided to take that and end the contest with it. The results were announced and I ended up coming 2nd with 269 points although 1st place also caught a Pinsir and got 272 points. I won an everstone which I didn?t need at all but I took it anyway, before leaving, heading on in the National park.

National Park

So I now was in the National Park, although with no bug catching contest going on. I walked around and there was a photographer there, who took a picture of me with my pokemon. I then saw a lady with a Persian sitting next to her. She gave me the Quick Claw which was pretty awesome, but I was unsure who to give it to, so I pocketed it for the time being, said thanks and moved on. I went into the long grass where there were a fair few trainers as well as wild pokemon. I caught a Sunkern before facing the first trainer. She only had a Snubbull which was no match for my Quilava who killed it in one shot. There was only one other trainer in the long grass, but he too was very easy to beat with his low level Oddish and Voltorb. I also had a look around and found a Soothe Ball and the TM 28 which was the move Dig. There was also some other very long grass, where I managed to find two more trainers, although both were still easy to beat. I then moved onto Route 36.

Route 36

I moved on and walked into the path of a psychic who challenged me to a battle. He had two Abra?s and a Kadabra, which my Dratini found pretty easy to beat. I had a look in the long grass there for any new pokemon. I found a Growlithe, which I caught pretty easily, before moving on and running into another trainer. He had a Tangela which was also pretty easy to beat, thanks to Dratini?s Dragon Rage. I moved on and found the tree, still there. It was the lady from the Flower Shop standing next to it, and saw that I had a Squirt Bottle and told me to use it on the tree. It then attacked me when I watered it, and I sent out my Dratini in defence. My pokedex told me it was a Sudowoodo so I decided to try and catch it. Dratini used Dragon Rage on it, before paralyzing it, but Dratini fainted after Sudowoodo got a critical hit on Dratini. I decided to throw a great ball at it, hoping it would work, and it did, capturing the Sudowoodo. The lady then gave me the Berry Pots for entertaining her and gave me some Oran and Pecha Berries to go with it, then she left again. I made a quick stop at Violet City to heal my pokemon before heading back. I picked up a Hyper Potion before heading on towards Ecruteak City.

Route 37

I looked in the grass first, and managed to catch a Stantler before facing the trainer there. He had a Drowzee but it couldn?t get a hit in, missing before my Dratini finished him off, leveling up in the process. I then ran into some twins, who sent out a Marill and Mareep. Quilava took Mareep out in one shot, before Togetic used Extrasensory, doing a fair bit of damage, but it allowed Marill to use Water Gun on my Quilava which was super effective, but didn?t do much damage anyway. Quilava then finished it off with Quick Attack. I then ran into the path of two other trainers, who challenged me to another double battle. They sent out a Clefable and Wigglytuff to start off with, but like everyone else, they didn?t give us really any challenge. I then moved on and I had finally reached Ecruteak City, the home of the next gym leader. I decided that I?d take a rest before exploring the city and facing the gym leader.

What level was your Pinsir? 'Cause I caught a Lvl 15 Butterfree and that got me over 350 points.

Your pokemon are pretty highly leveled Hedger

Should put one of your Pokemon in daycare if you decide to travel the land looking for hidden items.

I never use the daycare. It's annoying cos I forget I have a pokemon there. And I prefer to train them up myself.
