A Heart of Gold: A Pok?mon Story (Chewie v Iridium v Hedger)

This probably sounds pretty sad but I actually struggled against Morty. Chewie was right about Gengar being fast. Never used to have a problem beating him.

Espeon is actually quite a good Pokemon. Stats are fairly similar to Alakazam albeit a bit higher but I love Alakazam. It's the one Pokemon I'll always try to get.

Anyway Iridium, shouldn't you post your update if you're already fighting the gym leader?

And yeah, I've beaten the gym leader. I think I'll go back again though and use surf where I couldn't before and also catch a Gastly, since I forgot to get one.

Yea I should. I thought I had already posted it but that was the Goldenrod Gym update, not the bit after Goldenrod. I'm working on it now.

A Heart of Gold: A Pok?mon Story
Iridium - Part 9

After a tough battle against Whitney, I had emerged victorious and had come away with my third Gym badge. A quick look at the map told me that the next Gym was in Ecruteak City.

Goldenrod City
Next door to the Gym was a small flower shop. I'm not a big fan of flowers due to my hayfever but I decided to take a look anyway. The lady inside saw my Gym badge and gave a SquirtBottle, a watering can in the shape of a Squirtle. Cute.

Route 35
A quick trip to the Pokemon Centre and I was ready to leave Goldenrod City. Route 35 was the first stop on the way to
Ecruteak. There were quite a few trainers on this route, which was fine by me. My Croconaw and Geodude were the main recipients, as they proved their strength against the trainers.

Before the gate house leading to the National Park, there was a side path leading to some grass. I wasn't in a major hurry, so I thought I'd spend some time catching some Pokemon. I managed to grab a male and female Nidoran along the way. [NIDORAN M & F | Lvl 12].

Pokeathlon Dome
As I was about to head into the park, I remembered Whitney mentioning something called the Pokeathlon Dome. It was nearby so I decided to check it out. Upon entering the grounds, a large man and his Poliwrath came along and started to evaluate my Croconaw. He smiled and said my Pokemon looked like quite the Pokemon and that our bond indicated unlimited potential. Why thank you. He spoke a bit about the Pokeathlon Dome and introduced himself as Magnus and left.

The Pokeathlon seemed to be some sort of massive sports arena where instead of battling, Pokemon and trainers take part in sporting events. This all seemed very interesting, but there was something else I wanted to do.

National Park
Today was the Bug Catching Contest which was held three days a week. I was looking forward to participating. The marshall said I was only allowed to take one Pokemon into the contest. I chose Croconaw and I was handed 20 Sport Balls. I had 20 minutes to find and catch the best Bug-type Pokemon I could.

I ran in a started to look around. I came across a Weedle but passed it up. Then after leaving behind many Caterpies and Metapods, I encountered a Butterfree. I challanged it to battle against Croconaw. Croconaw used Ice Fang which froze up one of it's wings. I threw a Sport Ball and after a few anxious moments, it was caught. [BUTTERFREE | F | Lvl 14]. I was fairly confident that my Butterfree would place well as I went to the judging area.

When I saw what the other Bug Catcher's had caught I was a bit worried. There were Scythers, Pinsirs and many Beedrills. But I needn't have worried as my catch won 1st place netting me a Sun Stone. Amazingly 2nd place was a Metapod which beat out a Pinsir. The Pinsir's trainer wasn't happy about that decision and started to badmouth the judge.
Route 36
There were a couple of trainers on this route, a Psychic and a School Kid. Croconaw took out the Psychic's Pokemon whilst Spearow beat the School Kid's Tangela. The last battle made me realise that I had no Fire-type Pokemon in my team. As I look around in the grass nearby, I saw the perfect Pokemon for the job: a Growlithe. A brief battle later, and it was mine.

Up ahead, I came across a girl who said she worked the flower shop in Goldenrod. She pointed to a weird looking tree blocking the path. I remembered it was the same 'tree' I saw when I first left Violet City. She said then when she sprayed water on it, it moved. I remembered my SquirtBottle and gave the 'tree' a good soaking. Turns out it wasn't a tree, but a Pokemon. My Pokedex told me it was a Sudowoodo. Croconaw weakened it and I did the rest.

Now the path was clear, and everyone could get to
where they wanted to go much fatser. The girl gave me some berries and some Berry Pots, which would allow me to grow berries on the move. Very neat.

Route 37
This was the last route before I got to
Ecruteak. In the grass was a Psychic, whose Drowzee was no match for my Croconaw. In the grass, I manged to nab a Spinarak [SPINARAK | F | Lvl 15] and a Stantler [STANTLER | M | Lvl 15].

After the Psychic, two double battles lay ahead. I really enjoyed battling in this format. I swept aside the Twins but had a trickier time against the Beauties. They had two Wigglytuff and Clefable, both proving rather tough despite their looks. In the end, brute force came through.

It was getting dark but I thought I spend a bit of time on some extra training for my Pokemon. It paid off, as Abra evolved not long after we started.

Abra evolved into Kadabra!

Pleased with my Pokemon's effort, we called it a night a headed for the Pokemon Centre for a well deserved rest.

Well post your update now then :p I'll probably post my update tomorrow. Dinner soon, then I'll do my HW and then survivor is on so it won't be tonight so I'll post it tomorrow.

All I've done in the city is play at the game corner...

Yeah, well the other stuff doesn't actually take that long. A few quick battles in Goldenrod Tunnel, get a bike, get the radio card then beat the gym (Probably forgotten something).

Anyway, why did you need so many coins?
