Tuesday's Top Player Interview
With Chris Gamble

CG: Aloha and welcome to Tuesday's Top Player! Today's top player is the newest member of the Lions' squad, Seamus Cutler, the veternan opener who's experience has already proved invaluable to the squad. He is in great form after scores of 109 and 54 in his first two innings for the team. So, Seamus, how has life been treating ya?
SC:Quite well actually, first time I'm here in the Windies, so everything is good.
CG: Speaking of which, you have played your whole career to date in England, bar the occasional overseas match. How is the West Indies different?
SC: Umm, it is very different. The pitch here at the Lion Stands isn't too much different from the pitches I played on in England, but the weather, atmosphere, and the people here are quite different. In England, usually it is very cold and overcast, and the atmosphere is quite serious, with only a round of applause for a milestone or a wicket. But here, it is much warmer and the atmosphere is very party-like. It is great, I think I am going to enjoy myself here :)
CG: That's great to hear, we are sure you'll enjoy yourself too :) Now, tell us, what got you into cricket?
SC: Well, as a kid I had a chice between footie and cricket. I chose cricket cause my dad played it, although my brother took soccer, and just worked at it. I never enjoyed bowling, but always liked batting.
CG: Seeing as you are such an experienced contender, what tips would you have for young batsmen?
SC: Well, just get the basics right. Know when to play off the front foot and back, don't get into akward positions, foot to the pitch of the ball, straight bat, and that's it. Then the more you play, the better you become. Try to bat for time before going for other shots.
CG: Good tips. So, many people have commented that your age, claiming that you might be too old for the team. your thoughts?
SC: Well, it's their opinion. I feel as young and fit as ever, and being here in the Windies has made me fell only younger. The players and the crowds are so energetic, I feel like I am 22, not 32. I think my age brings experience, and isn't a liability at all. I am willing to give my all to the team, and hope to do well.
CG:That's great. Now, before we leave, a piece of trivia for the fans. What is your favourite book?
SC: Umm, I'll have to say The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie. Great book, she is a fantastic author.
CG: Thanks Seamus, may you enjoy a long stay with the Lions.
There you have it folks, Seamus Cutler, a hard working, energetic, horror-story reading kinda guy, and he is our this week's
Tuesday's Top Player! :)

The ABC Murders by Agatha Christie

"Whatever you do, never, ever, EVER go out to bat without a box. Trust me. All it takes is one delivery to misbehave, and you are out of cricket (Amongst other activites...) for a whole month..."

Umm, well, yes, thank you and join us next week for another Wednesday's Words of Wisdom!

WALES CC send offer to TT LIONS for Charity Match

Wales CC are offering TT Lions the chance to play in a Charity Match on Sunday. We are hoping to raise some money to help those who are blind to learn to play the Risottario.

The match would involve the worst XI the team can put out, with the five worst bowlers in that XI bowling.

The Blind Risottario Fund was set up in 2000 by the Kandy Rejects society as they wanted to promote their instrument, the Risottario.

:hpraise

Do you accept?

TT Lions accept challenge!
The TT Lions have accepted the challenge sent out to them by Wales CC, no more than just 2 minutes after recieving it.
"It is a great cause, where would the blind be if they couldn't play the Risottario?"
The match will be played this Sunday, with the worst possible XI from both sides, with the five worst bowlers bowling and the worst batsmen at the top of the order. The match is to be held at the Lion Stands, with 23.6% of all proceeds going to the "We are blind and wanna play the Risottario, Goddamnit!" society.

:laugh Worst XI from both sides.. it shd be interesting but TTL wud be winning ( my prediction :p ) But anyways, its exhibition money for charity.. so whoever wins doesnt matters :)

Nice idea of this charity match & Gud Luck for both!

One Day League
TT Lions vs. ketchy shuby
ketchy shuby CG
Friday 23/02/2007, 15:30 GMT

Enter week 6, with the Lions unbeaten to date in 5 matches, and their opponent ketchy shuby having won only 1. Another mismatch is on the cards, and the Lions aren't even getting paid for this...
At last look, the fullstrength ratings were:
Code:
		[B]TT Lions	ketchy shuby[/B]

[B]Top Order:[/B]	mediocre feeble
[B]Middle Order:[/B]	respectable feeble
[B]Lower Order:[/B]	abysmal worthless
[B]Seam Bowling:[/B]	superb feeble
[B]Spin Bowling:[/B]	strong feeble
[B]Fielding:[/B] feeble woeful
Ketchy shuby are outclassed in every department. And while they do look good for a new side, it isn't enough.
THe Lions are expected to be at full strength, with Eli and Abdeen making a rare league appearance. Crouch has been in blistering form, so don't be suprised if he comes in early as a pinch-hitter. The pitch is expected to be dusty, so Tuckett and Eli will be eagre to get a bowl.
Overall, another very easy win for the Lions is one the cards. Should be interesting to watch anyways.

Playing XI (Expected): Cutler, Giddings, Abdeen (+) Rudi, Gallagher, Crouch, Whing, Finlayson, Eli, Tuckett (*), Folkes.
