A T20 draft...cricket_icon & swacker's picks

I think he should be fine as a Pakistan player.

Yep quite right, you followed the rules nicely :p

Good picks thus far gang, those are probably the 3 Pakistanis I had at the top of my list for this round - I was just hoping that somehow everyone would forget Azhar Mahmood...

Virender-Sehwag-197x300.gif

Virender Sehwag , is one of the leading batsmen in the Indian cricket team. Sehwag is an aggressive right-handed opening batsman and a part-time right-arm off-spin bowler. He played his first One Day International in 1999 and joined the Indian Test cricket team in 2001. In April 2009, Sehwag became the only Indian to be honoured as the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World for his performance in 2008, subsequently becoming the first player of any nationality to retain the award for 2009.Right handed power shots is the speciality of Virendar Sewagh, suitable for ODI and twenty twenty cricket. Sehwag?s technique is often cited as being particularly unorthodox. He is also an excellent player of the late cut.
Sehwag holds multiple records including the highest score made by an Indian in Test cricket (319), which was also the fastest triple century in the history of international cricket (reached 300 off only 278 balls) as well as the fastest 250 by any batsman (in 207 balls against Sri Lanka on 3 December 2009 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai). Sehwag also holds the distinction of being one of four batsmen in the world to have ever surpassed 300 twice in Test cricket, and the only one to score two triple centuries and take a five-wicket innings haul. In March 2009, Sehwag smashed the fastest century ever scored by an Indian in ODI cricket, from 60 balls.

^Thanks Farhan - nice pick :thumbs

So cricket_icon has missed his 24 hr window, which means Bevab you can make a pick whenever you are ready. Icon, you'll just have to make your pick ASAP to stop the others from jumping in ahead of you.

Misbah-ul-Haq

Misbah-Ul-Haq.jpg

The best thing about Misbah is his unflappable temperament. He brought Pakistan back strongly after the spot-fixing saga in 2010. To speak about his cricket side, he has the 2nd most runs for Pakistan in T20's, only 13 runs behind Afridi, but he has played 14 innings lesser than Afridi. He's got remarkable consistency, which he showed in 2011. Although his strike rate is not so great, his contribution internationally to Pakistan is an amazing thing. In a team full of hitters, his calm approach undoubtedly has helped Pakistan on numerous occasions. His batting almost took Pakistan to glory in the 2007 T20 World Cup, but being the last man out must have been heart-breaking for him, especially when he was the highest scoring batsman of the day and the tournament for Pakistan.

My pick is "Kamran Akmal"
2011_1_2-2011_1_2_8_18_38-jpg-50862.jpg

- The most shocking and important record is that he is currently having most dismissals as a wicket keeper.

^Good man - glad someone was willing to pick Kamran :thumbs I think he's an underrated player now, very talented striker of the ball. T20 is probably the least important format for keeping too, so that suits his weakness of inconsistent hands.

Farhan it's your turn again so pick your Pakistan player, and cricket_icon - you're slipping down the order...still some good ones out there though :)

It was Razzaq or Mahmood for me. I personally like Razzaq, he's pretty good with the bat. Just went for Mahmood though, reasons unknown, haha. :p

Sahibzada Mohammad Shahid Khan Afridi (born 1 March 1980 in Khyber
Agency of the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, Pakistan[3]), popularly known as Shahid Afridi (Pashto: ???? ???????), is a Pakistani cricketer. Between 1996 and 2012, Afridi played 27 Tests, 334 One Day Internationals, and 46 Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) for the Pakistani national team. He made his ODI debut on 2 October 1996 against Kenya and his Test debut on 22 October 1998 against Australia.
He is known for his aggressive batting style,[4] and holds the record for the fastest ODI century which he made in his first international innings, as well as scoring 32 runs in a single over, the second highest scoring over ever in an ODI.[5] He also holds the distinction of having hit the most number of sixes in the history of ODI cricket.[6] Afridi considers himself a better bowler than batsman, and has taken 48 Test wickets and over 300 in ODIs. Currently Afridi is the leading wicket taker in the Twenty20 format taking 53 wickets from 43 matches.Shahid Afridi has signed to play for the Sydney Thunderin Australia?s Twenty20 Big Bash league.[7] In June 2009, Afridi took over the Twenty20 captaincy from Younus Khan, and was later appointed ODI captain for the 2010 Asia Cup. In his first match as ODI captain against Sri Lanka he scored a century however Pakistan still lost by 16 runs. He then also took over the Test captaincy but resigned after one match in charge citing lack of form and ability to play Test cricket; at the same time he announced his retirement from Tests. He retained the captaincy in limited-overs form of the game and led the team in the 2011 World Cup. In May 2011, having led Pakistan in 34 ODIs Afridi was replaced as captain. Later that month he announced his conditional retirement from international cricket in protest against his treatment by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB); in October he reversed his decision. UNICEF and Pakistani authorities have taken Shahid Afridi on board for its anti-polio campaign in the tribal belt of lawless Waziristan region.

Wow, I never knew Dhoni used to play for Pakistan.

Damn, sorry guys, I just been a bit busy. I was hoping to pick up Mohammad Hafeez but his taken so I'm gona go for:

Imran Nazir:

His International stats: Matches: 16, Runs: 324, Average: 23.14 and SR: 137.87

Domestic: Matches: 68, Runs: 1858, Average: 33.17 and SR: 160.58 with a whopping 100 6s.

Nowhere near my first choice so this was a tough decision. I knew I needed a batsman in my line up and with a lot of the top t20 openers already taken I settled for Nazir. Although not as consistent as almost every other player chosen in this draft, when he is in top form he can smash a quick 20-30 and leave the opposing bowlers gasping for air.

AbduliRazzaq

Format | Matches | Innings | Runs | Highest Score | Average | Strikerate | 50s/100s | Wickets | Average | Economy | Strikerate | BB T20I | 26 | 24 | 346 | 46* | 23.06 | 126.27 | 0/0 | 18 | 20.00 | 6.85 | 17.5 | 3/13 T20 | 121 | 107 | 2831 | 109 | 27.85| 133.48 | 9/1 | 120 | 23.59 | 7.68 | 18.4 | 4/13

If you need quick runs or a breakthrough, Abdul Razzaq could be your best bet! The big hitter from Lahore is one of the finesh allrounders Pakistan has produced post Imran Khan. He has served the national team for years now and currently has been in and out of the team which has more to do with his form. He has lost a bit of pace and some believe that lost his touch and that his golden period is over. However, those who have seen him playing know what he is capable of and his domestic T20 stats speak volumes about his consistency and expertise. A man who can turn the game on both, his batting and bowling is something you strive for.
