Correct the strike rate. He has a strike rate of 15.7 in T20Is. What you mentioned is his strike rate in first class matches.

Matthew Hayden

Matthew_Hayden-1.jpg

Hayden is an absolutely explosive player, and he relied on mental and physical strength rather than technical skill. His powerful shots, height and immense concentration could really shatter any bowler's confidence and could even send a player off his tail for weeks altogether. Also, his efficiency as a catcher in the slips and the gully is well known.

He also has a good strike rate in T20's, and although his international T20 experience his limited (considering that when T20's became popular, he was around 36), he still has a decent domestic T20 experience and obviously his performances whenever he was relied on was usually around the best.

Although he is often regarded as an aggressive batsman in T20's, he still has shown that he differs from the always hitting batsman by strengthening his team whenever it was on the brink of a collapse with some calmer shots, and less aggression. He would definitely be an essential element to any team, and I feel his importance would be more for my team.

KeviniPietersen

Format | Matches | Innings | Runs | Highest Score | Average | Strikerate | 50s/100s T20I | 36 | 36 | 1176 | 79 | 37.93 | 141.51 | 7/0 T20 | 80 | 79 | 2329 | 102* | 34.76| 138.54 | 12/1

Only the second man to reach 1000 run mark in T20I, Kevin Pietersen has been the backbone of the English side for quite some time now. Known for his big shots, Kev, as he is fondly called, is one of the best batsmen of the shortest format of the game. The man who was probably first to introduce the switch hit in world cricket has been equally good in domestic T20s as well. In the latest edition of IPL, he hit his first century of T20 career in April this year. With time, KP seems to be a becoming a better batsman just like wine tastes better when old. The 6*4" tall man can be a great inclusion to any side for the bang bang version of cricket.

Well I have first pick for West Indies, but I just can't risk letting this man slip through my fingers.

Sunil Narine

10648.jpg

One of the most exciting prospects in world cricket at all three forms. The Trinidadian exploded on the T20 scene after the team qualified for the CL20, where he was one of three bowlers to take more than 10 wickets in the competition.

After an impressive ODI display against the Aussies, taking 11 wickets across 5 matches, Narine made his way to India for his first IPL, where he was purchased by KKR for $700k. Aided by Narine's 24 scalps and 5.47 economy, KKR lifted the trophy and named Narine Player of the Tournament.

Correct the strike rate. He has a strike rate of 15.7 in T20Is. What you mentioned is his strike rate in first class matches.

You're right. just reading it back how can someone like Ajmal have a SR of 50 odd in t20. My bad.

Kev, as he is fondly called

Not so fondly these days :p

Fenil jumps the gun...will swacker or author deny him KP?? The suspense! Thanks for writing it up anyway mate. I like that table you used, might have to copy for my next one :thumbs

Like your work thus far cricket_icon (who let you in?? :p), I had Umar Gul and Ajmal at the very top of my bowlers wishlist and you've got both!

Cameron White
iimexzavXCZTa.png

Since his altitude to the Victorian captaincy at 20 years of age, White has been considered a great ability to perform for Australia. However, difficult matters is that he has often been under pressure as a batsman. Particularly given he's from Victoria, has shock blonde hair. The mixture of composure and aggression that he has shown at ODI and T20I level, particularly when batting up the order, has shown that he is a player that could certainly be selected on his batting merits alone. His bowling days, for better or worse, seem to be behind him.

In my view, White is Australia's best T20 batsman. Can score sixes at will and has been instrumental in recoveries against any opponent. Should be captain!

While everyone else goes for present players, I have opted for another blast from the past. Greaeme Hick simply dominated the early days of Twenty20 cricket. Twenty20 only came along a decade after Graeme Hick was at his peak as an international player in the period that he averaged 45 in Tests over three years, but his hitting power was clearly undiminished. Scoring his runs at a little over nine an over, Hick was the first non-overseas player to score two Twenty20 centuries in England, as well as notching up 10 fifties. In his last T20 match, aged 42, he belted 59 from the top of the order. If only, for Hick's sake, the IPL came around 10 years earlier.

^Has to be KP I think..If he was going to pick him 20 hrs ago, then it should still be good now :) Plus you and I are on and we can keep going :D

Great pick Fenil!!

My pick is Andrew Symonds.

Andrew Symonds

Andrew Symonds is one player whom everyone would want to have in a limited overs format. He can play handsome knocks, can fire in those off spinners or bowl medium pace, and he can pull off some amazing run outs and catches. T20 is a format where every run saved matters. Symonds surely adds value to the team when it comes to fielding. He holds the record of scoring the fastest hundred in T20 cricket which came off just 34 balls and included 18 fours (2nd highest for any player in an innings behind Paul Valthaty's 19 fours).
