You found him from the Indian draft didn't you :p.

Yeah- for an Indian only draft I think that pick would've been OK, but in these circumstances he's probably played too few games. There are still decent fast bowlers out there in the modern era.

Haha what? That's an awesome pick. He was one of the most feared bowlers of his era. This actually throws a wrench into my plans as he was my next pick :(

Of course not! I first heard about him from my grandpa. Used to tell me stories of him and CK Naiydu almost every day. That was some four years back.

It's quite natural that he played only a few Test matches. There was hardly any international cricket involving India in those days, as we had just made our appearance in the Test arena, and no matter how hard we tried, we got pummeled every time by even the weakest of nations. No wonder no one wanted to tour is. Plus, more than half of our population didn't know what the word "cricket" meant; there was hardly any cricketing infrastructure in the country. Nissar hailed from this type of a background. Yet, just see his first class records (A bowling average of 17.70!!), just see how successful he was against top class teams of that era in the limited number of matches he played! Only a genius can fight so many obstacles and shine like this. Nissar indeed was one. Even a legend Barry Richards played only four Tests in his entire career. Does that take anything away from him? Same goes with Nissar.

Either way, hardly makes that crap team any better :laugh. Jayasuriya and Binny :laugh.

Pick: Majid Khan

Khan was elegent, graceful and effortless when he was at the crease. He played with true spirit and was a wonderful character. He won the Wisden Cricketer of the Year in 1970 and was one half of a successful opening partnership for Pakistan.

2. Navjot Sidhu
3. Rahul Dravid
4.
5. Mohammad Azharuddin (c)
6. Sourav Ganguly
7. Hashan Tillikaratne (wk)
8.

We just need to get to King Cricket again today. It'll be easier to get through to me after that seeing as it's not that late in Britain (Dr.Pepper) yet.

Badly need opening batsman. :p

My nest pick and my last SL pick: TM Dilshan

He is Sri Lanka's answer to Virender Sehwag and at 43.5 has average which is increasing with every match. He is brilliant fielder and a handy part time off spinner. Moved to opening position recently and is averaging close to 60 in last 3 years.

He can keep as well. True all round cricketer.

Sid Sharks:

Opener 1
Tilakratne Dilshan
Batsman 1
Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar
Younis Khan
Kumar Sangakkara (WK)
Mohinder Amarnath
Bowler 1
Abdul Qadir
Javagal Srinath
Sarfraz Nawaz Malik

Posted via Mobile Device Sorry guys. No chance of me picking for another five hours as I'm too busy at work to do any proper research. Won't take me long once I can get on a computer.

Was going to gamble again but my last one didn't pay off (Saqi instead of Nissar). I pick Amar Singh. His partnership with Nissar was well feared and though he didn't posses the sheer pace that his counterpart could reach, his unerring accuracy made him even more dangerous than his bowling partner, as witnessed by the greats of his era such as Len Hutton and Wally Hammond. Though his Test career was short and interrupted due to the second great war, he amassed over 500 wickets in First Class cricket with relative ease, mostly in India, the land known to be a graveyard for pacers. He was the Wasim to India's Waqar and hence a rather perfect fit for my team.

NP11

1. Sunil Gavaskar
2. Virender Sehwag
3. Zaheer Abbas
4. Mohammad Yousuf
5.
6. Farrokh Engineer
7.
8. Amar Singh
9. Saqlain Mushtaq
10. Waqar Younis
11. BS Chandrashekar

Who the hell is Amar Singh? I thought you were joking by referring to Amitabh Bachan's buddy.

Correction, two. Although, the second one is more a successful skipper than a batsman.

He is crap as batsman. :p
