The ICC met with Australian officials to discuss australias upcoming tours. They said that what australia wanted was fine as the other countries had no other tours at the time.

Australia will start off Hosting the Elite 8 of the world. These include: Australia, England, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, Pakistan, India, South Africa and the West Indies. They host them in a 20/20 ODI a possible Test Chamiponship. They then head over to New Zealand with a 3 Game Chappell Hadlee series in New Zealand. Then will come back home to the VB Series but a new style 20/20 with teams of . They will go back over to India to play a Test match and a 3 Game 1 20/20 Day Series. While over there australia will play in a 3 Game series with Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Then The Ashes will come back to Australia. Then Australia will go over to the countries not in the Elite 8 and play a one day series with them the teams are Australia, Bangladesh, Netherlands, Canada, Namibia and Kenya. Then All nations will return to the West Indies and play the 2007 ICC World Cup.

Australia have a big scheduale ahead of them and the dates will be named later. If the comp never gets done i would send my apologies as to i would be very busy but il try to get 1 or 2 games done each weekend.

Detailed Dates for rest of the year:
Tour of India: Test Match 16th-20th May (Mumbai)
20/20 Series: 26th May(Calcutta), 27th May(Delhi), 3rd June (Bangalore)


Pepsi Cup (Pakistan[hosting],Australia, India, Sri Lanka)
One Day Series: Between 10th June and 15th July Fixtures Coming Soon
GAMES AT FAISABLAD, LAHORE, KARACHI, PESHANWAR, RAWALPINDI, HYBERALAND


West Indies Tour: Test Matchs 21st July- 25th July(Barbados), 30th- 3rd August(Trinidad)

ICC PRESIDENT Ehsan Mani has confirmed the Elite 8.

Ehsan Mani said:
We would like to introduce a new form of cricket introuduced by Australia. We have come up with a new 4 yearly tournament. Each country will recieve it that is playing in it. But some of the teams below the elite 8 may come up to knock out other teams eg Zimbabwe. We didnt want to make them feel like they are the worst cricket team in the world so we organised a special comp for them. This is a great way to get the good message about 20/20 Competition around the world.

The Sponsors dates etc have been confirmed. The main sponsors will be Johnnie Walker. It will be called the Johnnie Walker Elite 8. Other Sponsors are VB. The Johnnie walker and Vb signs will appear at each end of the stadiums on the pitchcad. The stadium and fixtures have been concluded. There are 14 roudns plus the grand final which will be played at the Gabba.

Round 1 Will be on the 4th of February

The ICC Elite Competition's broadcasting rights have gone to Fox Sports and Channel 9 as a joint production. Channel 9 will take their cameras to most of the matches and broadcast two through the 9 Network and Fox Sports have bought the games to of their matches. They are going to do Fox Sports Active so when two are on at the same time because there are 3 Day games a day and one night.

Oh i better edit that one Gilespie is the 12th man/supersub!

Also Jaques isnt in RPIC so like you wouldnt be able to make him up to his real standards.

ENGLAND HAS ARRIVED IN AUSTRALIA

Teams havnt been announced and wont until the game will start.

Other teams are expected to arrive later in the week.

Sky News caught up with Michael Vaughn and he said

We have arrived early to be on track get to the aussie atmosphere etc. We really want to win the ICC Elite 8 and have a good chance of being one of the worlds best teams. As ICC rankings will go very high to ICC Elite 8 winners.
 
All other competing Countries have arrived in Australia and have started Training ahead of the first round this weekend.
