THE AUSSIES HAVE WON A GREAT GAME AT THE MCG. They lost alot of wickets early and were 9-70 until a Brad Hogg made 44* (22) and Glenn Mcgrath 13*(11) Saved the game and Australia won by 1 Wicket and had 7.5 Overs Spare. There were alot of runout mixups but they are happy and have gone onto continue there great form in the ICC Elite 8.

Alot of things were going through my mind at the time should i hit singles, go for sixes, hit fours along the ground and he did he hit a couple of sixes but mostly fours along the ground
Hogg gets man of the match for his 2-64 (4) and 44* (22)

SYMONDS POINT OF VIEW - A VICTORY AGAINST SOUTH AFRICA

Andrew Symonds has stated that he is ready for a rematch against South Africa next week in the 3rd 20/20 Outing Between these two teams. It is 1-1 in the 20/20 Results Card between these two and he said "We are going to go back to the Gabba next weekend." Symonds made a very quick 20/20 Fifty agains the game then but is unsure if he will be playing as he didnt play against Pakistan last week on which Lehman had to replace Symonds in Last Minute. Symonds is unsure if he will be playing though this week. Symonds hurt his leg at Training and then got a Gastrode bug 3 Hours before the game yesterday. Symonds has recovered from the Bug but his Physio and Doctor are unsure if he will be able to play Against South Africa Next Weekend.

AUSTRALIA CHANGE JERSEY!!!

Australia have changed their jersey for the Rest of the ICC Elite 8 to the one they used in the 20/20. This will change their look. Australia are happy to wear that uniform with their nicknames at the top of the back and a new feature saying their Real Surname on the bottom of the back.

PONTING AND GILCHRIST SAY AUSSIES CAN WIN THE ICC ELITE 8

Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist have told the media that the Aussies have what it takes to win the ICC Elite 8. Australia have picked their usual lineup with Andrew Symonds down in the starting eleven but if he cant play he will be put down as 12th Man and Lehman will take his place. The Aussies are fit and have trained all week and have worked on not losing wickets and that is what they have to do stay in and keep the ball along the ground.
Ricky Ponting said:
I Mean we won the ICC World Cup for two years in a row so what is stopping us from winnning this
Adam Gilchrist said:
We have the team to do it we have great fast bowlers eg Brett Lee and Glenn Mcgrath and Great spinners Brad Hogg, Michael Clarke Who filled in for Andrew Symonds last week and Andrew Symonds who have been landing the ball in great places on the pitch this ICC ELITE 8.
Australia play South Africa this week at the Gabba.

SOUTH AFRICA AREN't SCARED OF AUSSIES
South Africa aren't scared of the Aussies in the Next match ahead of them at the Gabba. It's an exact rematch at the gabba, aussies are in their 20/20 jersey etc.
Graeme Smith said:
We reckon that we can win this match, all our players are fit and ready to play. There are no team changes as no one is injured so were just waiting for Makaya Ntini and Shaun Pollick to knock down the stumps. We hope we can win this 20/20 so that the 20/20 records between our teams are 2-1 in favour of us. Its going to be very close but Australia have the homeground advantage and will probably score 210+ so its going to not be an easy task if they bat first.

SOUTH AFRICA WIN TOSS FIRST

South africa have won the toss and elected to bat in sunny conditions at the Gabba. A hard pitch is being used today.

Glenn Mcgrath and Brett Lee open the bowling along with Bichel, Hogg and Clarke bowling. Symonds has chosen not to bowl because he isnt 100% Well

Brett Lee, Brad Hogg, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds (Who suprisingly got 1 Over) and Glenn Mcgrath have taken wickets for Australia. Lee taking the early blood and then Hogg 3 and Clarke 2 each followed by Brett Lee's Other then Symonds got 1 in his first over. The Home side Has Set themselves an easy target of 148 off 20 Overs requiring 7.4 Runs Per Over. South Africa really attacked in the last 5.4 Overs because Australia had them at 5-82.

Shaun Pollock is very excited about bowling to the aussies and wants to smash the wickets.
