I did read somewhere that they were after England Cricket tv rights come 2009 though.

Interesting that Setanta were the only bidders for IPL in the UK, do I sense an ITV digital championship football fiasco part two?

I hope that doesn't happen! It's bad enough that Cricket is no longer live on terrestrial TV (there's only one Sky box in the house, so I can't have the cricket on all day, people keep turning it over) without it being sucked up by Setanta which I haven't got and don't need since I have Sky. It's ridiculous that cricket isn't shown live on terrestrial TV anyway! Channel Five should have a go, they haven't really got many sports exclusives have they?

If your talking about Steve Bunce, dear me, anyone that cockney makes me cringe.

Its football isn't as great as coverage as sky, but, its not bad for its first season and it'll improve next season hopefully with cup and England games. I tend to watch it just for the Premiership games and the odd SPL game. I've seen a couple of lower league games when Droylsden were on against Oxford and when Stalybridge were on at home in the setanta shield, it showed all around the area.

It also shows Gaelic football, rugby and golf, so I'd guess it'd just show those in the summer.

However, having said all the positives, Setanta Sports News is the biggest excuse for a sports news ever channel as there has ever been. The amount of cock-ups is unbelievable, so unprofessional.

I quite enjoy Setanta as you also get LFC TV and the Horse Racing Channel. The football coverage is good and they have some good Pundits. As for Champions League rights Itv wont be too bothered if they lose it as more people watch Wednesdays Corrie then the Football.

Yeah, it annoys me that part of our money goes towards the vermin. I've only watched it twice, once when it was Liverpool vs United reserves and once on Tuesday when it showed the 2-2 draw at anfailed from 99. You know the one, where helped by a shocking refereeing performance from Ellery, thought that you'd stopped us winning the league. You hadn't, but the vermin still see it as a major result over us.

Onto the pundits, there all no marks in football, I mean Tim Sherwood, Steve McManamann, they didnt have the greatest of careers.

He's not a bad player, but he's way overrated. People go on about Fat Fwank's goal scoring record, but have a look at how many of them are deflected.

Well tomorrow is their big day for the cricket coverage. They're putting very little effort in presentation-wise because there are no English players this year - not even a presenter to link it together. It's all host/Indian coverage.

And here's hoping that BT Vision put some of it On Demand so I can watch it - it'll be the first time I've bought any TV show from them...

Thats disappointing, if they are going to show it, it really wouldn't take too much effort to get a set and find someone to present it. I'm guessing they spent a lot on actually getting the coverage, finding someone to present it would have been peanuts in comparision.
