Any one with Setanta in here?

God I hope Setanta don't cover conference football next year, they have well and truly wrecked the coverage of it.

Decent football and it has been wrecked!

well in the first post you say you love it...and now you are contridicting yourself...make your mind up mate:rolleyes:

anyways as i am with talk talk i could get it for 2 months free of charge but my dad says no cos he says he will forget to call them after 2 months to turn it off as he doesn't want to pay that extra ?10 or whatever it is even though i offered i will pay:p

I can't ****ing stand that fat ******* Dolan, while he was with Cork City he was going on about how the English league is 'crumbling' and yet he commentates on the ****ing thing, what an asshole.

Somebody said something really funny when we were at the Bohemians game.

He walked past and someone went "Has he lost weight?" and another guy went "Just got a smaller suit"

there is no point in getting setanta because it costs money you should just watch the matches on sky and if your team is playing on setanta then just go to setanta news witch is just like any other sky channels

ESPN would rather start a new channel on their own I think. Setanta is a damaged brand.

I got Setanta for free for a year as part of an on demand package deal with BT. To be honest I don't watch it much (watched a few IPL games and the odd Premiership footie match). Would be a shame to see it go under. While it is true it is not that much competition for Sky, at least it IS competition. Monopolies are never a good thing and Choice is generally a good thing.

With regards to ESPN buying it, I'd guess they aren't interested in the Brand and it would probably become ESPN anyway, what they would be interested in are the rights to Premiership, Scottish footie, FA Cup, England Matches, the Golf etc.

Well there's a chance Sky will buy a share in Setanta to eliminate the chance of ESPN taking them over apparently. However most likely they just go tits up. Given all the staff are being called in for a meeting tomorrow it doesn't look good.

btw Kev have you tried cancelling with Setanta? Apparently it's just about impossible :D They will offer you a deal a hell of a lot lower than the normal rate, and they will just drop it to some ridiculous price. Then if you still want to cancel they never quite get round to it :D

That would suck if Setanta went under. I love watching the UFC stuff on there. The UFC PPV's, UFC Unleashed and Ultimate Talk, I catch every show and would be gutted if the UFC went to Sky as I'd have to pay out some ridiculous fee for every PPV. Hopefully they'll get things sorted!

Doubt sky would put it on PPV initially. Doubt it would go to sky either, if it did it would finally get some attention though, the ufc should be pushing for that. Apparently it will be shown on virgin. and here's the real bad bit, on delay. How crap is that.

Apparently they might be going off at midnight tonight. Now I'm hoping that's BS because there's a quality fight on this weekend and UFC 99. Still in meetings though I think.

They better give me this month's subscription back if they do.

Who's going to pick up the FA Cup and Premier League package?
