Sri Lanka definitely worked to the plan. They played the long game, using their lower order and the batting powerplay quite well. India had hold of the game at times, but it didn't really look that good for them, especially not whey had Tendulkar and Kohli trying to cover up for The Sreesanth. 275 is no water-tight target, but in most contexts, it asks a lot of the chasing team.

glad it was mahela, he doesn't get the credit he deserves.

perhaps that's the destiny that's going to be forfilled this final. ha.

however, the bigger picture is sri lanka probably could have got more, with an earlier powerplay, better start (khan was unbelievable in the first 10, sri lanka will struggle to replicate that), and getting out to a couple of poor shots.

still room for india to err, but neither team has really muscled it's way into contention yet. all in all though, probably makes for the best WC final since 1996.
