Ashes-2023 England VS Australia 16 June-31 July

Team needs freshening up for Headingley. Reckon I'd go

  1. Crawley:bat:
  2. Duckett:bat:
  3. Root:ar:
  4. Brook:bat:
  5. Stokes:ar:
  6. YJB:bat:
  7. Foakes:wk:
  8. Woakes:bwl:
  9. Wood:bwl:
  10. Broad:bwl:
  11. Ahmed/Mo:bwl: (Clearly its Dawson but he's not in the squad)

Foakes isn’t in the squad either. Neither is Rehan.

Ah it'll be Mo and Lawrence then. Unless Pope is fully fit. Mainly just wishful thinking they'd bring Foakes in

Yeah my ideal XI would have Foakes in, play Brook or Root at three, Bairstow to five doing what he did last summer and bin Crawley for the superior Kent opener who can actually absorb deliveries allowing the others to bat around him or be aggressive.

Absolutely nothing wrong with the Bairstow dismissal. The ball was, by no means, dead. Totally agree that Bairstow wasn't looking for a run. However, it was naïve on his part to think he could simply walk off almost as soon as the ball hit the keeper's glove. And to think he is one himself, he should have known better.

The 3rd Test will either be a cracker of a match (though we already have had two) or be heavily one-sided. Who comes out on top could be anybody's guess. Perhaps the situation is best suited for Bazzball. Or it could be the downfall. In either case, sparks are bound to fly.

Can't help absolutely seething at how FOUR batsmen demonstrated brainless batting at 188-1 in the first innings. Combine that with our inability to finish off tail at Edgbaston and that's where Ashes went for us.There is no chance whatsoever we are coming back from 2-0 down
