Ashes-2023 England VS Australia 16 June-31 July

Australia show they don't have the guts to bring in Maxwell.

Green or MMarsh as your fourth pacer with a crocked Hazlewood and a gassed Cummins among the main three?

Australia have officially lost the plot.

Looks like the plan was to have Warner face Broad as little as possible. 1st hurdle passed as he survived unscathed and the bowler is off the attack.

Impressive RR from Australia. Even session I would say.

It's amazing how often England have managed to get wickets when they needed them. So often in the series danger men like Warner / Smith / Marnus / Head / Marsh have gone just when they were threatening to bat long and take the game away.

Some of that has been brought about by uncharacteristically poor shots, esp from Smith / Marnus, but England have bowled some good balls too.

Feels typical of the last 12 months, can't remember many times when England have let the game drift when they're bowling.

If Woakes had been around in the 90s he'd have been seriously useful.

Although he'd probably have been languishing in county cricket because Ray Illingworth didn't like his footwork or something.

He’d have been another failed “next Botham” despite being a better bowler and batter than anyone else that they’d reasonably have at 8 otherwise
