Ashes-2023 England VS Australia 16 June-31 July

I've said before, I think Australia have been terrified of what he might do and have facilitated that by setting fields for poor bowling and then bowled poorly to him. But can't deny he's taken his chances this summer and repaid the faith shown in him.

I can’t believe the number of leg-side dollies handed out to him. It truly has been atrocious bowling at times to him.

What is a dolly? I've always thought it's a simple catching chance, but now you're using it to describe a hit-me ball

Crawley will batter the oppo with drives outside off stick but the nick is always on.

On his pads he'll score all day without much danger.

I can't really explain why they've bowled so straight at him.

The number of times Ricky has said this while commentating… it’s almost like the current team are intent on not listening to any outside influence.

They must know. There's no way world class bowlers like Cummins / Hazlewood / Starc wouldn't spot the edgy stuff outside off stump and the fact that every time they dish up on his pads it goes for four risk free.

Maybe there's another theory floating around the Aussie dressing room but I've got absolutely no idea what it could be.

If the ball isn't doing much in the air I think they are looking to bowl wobble seam and target the stumps. Cummins and Hazlewood are more likely to bowl that anyway. Probably a good idea against a few of the England players but with Crawley they just need to hang it outside off.

Looks like a good track to bat on, still. Loads of time in the game.

I don't see why they couldn't chase 350 if a couple of guys can post scores. Beyond that it's getting a bit steep.

Such a shame we are unable to win a test series in England again despite being a far superior side. Not as big a gap as the one in the 2019 series, but still disappointing. However at least we are able to win ashes tests away from home.
