Ashes Cricket 2013 General Discussion

Hi Chief,

Will your game have Autoplay options like EAC07 i.e. autoplay 1/5/10/15/20/50/100 or till end of Innings/session or fall of wicket ?
This option would be awesome as it has been in EA series games. I absolutely hated it when Cricket Revolution didn't have it, perhaps BLIC05 didn't have it also,
It was irritating & frustrating at the same time.

I'm asking because my preferable mode is mostly off-line, single-player and sometime while playing limited 20-overs matches,
i like to autoplay to see how my team is doing at the end of 15 overs, be it bowling or batting.
While bowling it makes for an interesting phase trying to dry up the runs by bowling fuller length or slower ones or by trying to save boundary shots.
While batting, it makes exciting run chase in last 5-overs.
Similarly, while playing 4/5-day matches, I autoplay for a session/innings...when batting 1st, sometimes I autoplay till end of 2nd innings
to see how the match is poised at the start of 3rd innings, trying to see how much & at what rate i need to score, which gives me high enough
total to defend in 4th Innings as well as leaves my bowlers enough time to get 10 opposition wickets.
Or if my team is batting second, I simply autoplay till end of 3rd innings, only to chase in 4th innings.. it's quite thrilling experience for me.

Somedays you don't feel like batting all 20/50 overs.. someday you feel like batting whole allotted no. of overs,
while u only want to bowl in death overs with field deep spread out.. so I guess having the flexibility to Autoplay till various points in the match is an important game-play component and adds to the longevity factor as well.

Yep: you can simulate individual overs or whole innings currently. I quite like the idea of being able to simulate bigger chunks of overs though: we'll look into that.

wow Chief, that was quick.. I assume simulating single/chunk of overs till various points in a match is more of a design issue than technical issue.. glad you are going to work on it :cheers

Will the simulation gonna produce accurate result?

We're obviously setting out with the goal of making it wildly UNrealistic, but some of the new AI systems we have developed may well force us to settle for some pretty accurate figures. :)

As long as it is going to give me realistic scoreline taking player skills, match situation, weather condition in mind, I'll be happy.

Picture this,
1. on a batting beauty, SL scorecard reads 75/1 with the loss of Dilshan at the end of 10 overs in a 50 overs match
2. while chasing the score of 180 in T20, India is at 115/4 at 15 overs mark with MSD & Raina at the crease
3. On a greenish pitch with overcast condition in a test match, NZ are 59/3 at the end of 25 overs against SA
4. WI has set a target of 325 on 4th innings for AUS & they are at 260/5 with 2 hr and 22 overs to go before close of play on day 5 with pitch getting uneven bounce

These are the kind of situations I'm going to look forward to find my team in :thumbs

Y wud u do this??? :eek::eek::eek: :mad:mad:mad :noway:noway:noway

You do know that every time someone asks an obvious question, I remove a stadium from the game as well?

Someone asked for screenshots again on the Facebook wall this week, and I removed the concept of wicket keepers...
