Ashes Cricket 2013 General Discussion

From this, it seems that the scoreboards are dynamic in Bradman 14 and not just pictures. Is that the case in Ashes 2013?

"Early September" would be any date before the 15th... But you would be pushing it to say "early" matches up on the 14th or something. There's a fair bucket of credibility leaking away with this product...

I won't be refilling my glass half full cup if there's nothing forthcoming in the next few days. I get the distinct impression more and more the proverbial piss is being taken...

We're getting a WIP update how can you not be excited

Still not convinced. I think previous games have had an image of a scoreboard. It's a realistic looking scoreboard but it never changes as it's just a picture. Given how pixelated that scoreboard is, you would never be able to read it unless you really looked carefully, so it may just be an image.

Does remind you how woeful the graphics are, and that bat...

Where's the sight-screen in that image!?

It is there. At Lords the members sit in front of the sight-screen.

The other games blurred out the scoreboard to make it generic. That's clear enough to read (or at least would be if the camera was right on it) - and shows the England 5/16 score clearly as well as a scorecard that matches up to that and if it weren't for the Batsman hanging his head in shame you'd probably be able to match them up.

There's so much else to knock on that screenshot, but I couldn't be cynical enough to say from it that they don't have a dynamic scoreboard as a feature.

The reason it matters in DB14 is that it pairs well with the player focused first person perspective - rather than just being decoration like this is.

(They were in '09 and '10 as well. In 10 you could turn to have a look in the batsman-cam briefly.) From recollection it just rendered the scorecard screen (that you would have seen if pausing and selecting it) onto the in-stadium scoreboard.

We have made a decision not to show anything further on the AC2013 game until early September as we need to turn on all the stuff we haven't been able to do during August. I am sorry but it will be worth the wait and to answer your question on the Big Ant sneak peek video it really looks good and have set us a challenge which i look forward too.

As previously stated from early September you will see a constant flow of materials to this effect and the vine vid doesn't show off the HUD at all which was turned off at the time we took this raw footage a month or so ago. We need the month of August to get all this together so I need to leave the team alone to totally focus on turning on all the good stuff on before we can give you a true reflection of the game.

Hi Matt,

Please be patient all will be reveal over the coming weeks but I am also glad you liked our catching system in AC2009 but I think we have taken it to the next level with AC2013 but you going to have to wait until early september for visuals as we need the month of August to get a few key fundamentals in the game sorted out now that we thankfully have been granted more time.

Well apparently mike mentioned "early september" atleast 3 more times from a quick search, so it wasn't just one odd post that angy posted. So i dont see why people should not be asking whether the images and visuals are still coming in "early september" or not. On the other hand, One might object if someone says "why are there no visuals yet?".

And early september to me means until the 10th followed by mid september and then late september. And i would wait for the 10th before saying anything.

Pirates asking for a key to unlock illegal copy of the game from a developer, and that too for a game which is yet to be released is LOLworthy at so many levels :lol

I think the chap's going for some sort of parody effect... can't believe anyone can be that stupid, at last not someone who hasn't won the Darwin award till date :D

i would agree it would incorporate up to 10th...

BUT...

Mike Fegan must have known his posts would result in an expectation (not unreasonable to my mind) that the "constant flow" would start this week.

he has also mentioned that he would try and give an update today. while the key word was "try", to my mind i would at least expect a comment/acknowledgment that he hasn't been able to do that, and maybe some sort of explanation why.

given the history of this title, radio silence is a huge red flag to me that nothing much has changed.

my hunch is the "assets" he has referred to working on this week were met with a stoney silence and shake of the head from 505.

i think we have more chance of Lord Lucan and Elvis Presley opening the bowling for England in the first test than this game of seeing the light of day. all we're waiting on is the official news from 505 that they have pulled the plug.

I think you are missing the point made by Lee. It's not about "early", "mid", "late", "very late" September. It's about letting chips fall as they may without pestering Mike F or Ross or anyone else for that matter about info, trailers, videos and release dates. We already know AC13 (or 14) should be out in Nov and DBC 14 should be out sometime before that. The discussion about early and late September will not help anyone and neither will you change things other than adding reams of pages to the forum.

We are on the home stretch of both cricket video games unless we are struck by "cricket video game curse", and should have the games out in a couple of months' time so why not wait and watch? IMO we should start getting more info from end of September onwards.
