I've been surprised that Big Ant are so concerned about the Ashes 2013 release date. Personally I'd have had the game in the shops this week so people can play with the first test starting.
Seeing as we don't know still if and when Ashes 2013 is releasing the decision to delay DB14 could backfire spectacularly if it ends up going head-to-head rather than getting a clear run of a few weeks first.

And that's why it's not "nonsense" to speculate that the Day One patch isn't finished.

The thing is, you only have to go back a few months to see posts giving just these sentiments that Ross himself thanked...

Clearly, there is a lot more to this than meets the eye...

the implication of that - but could be reading too much into it - is you can't distribute it because the retailers won't want it at your price if they think ashes will release at such a lesser price?

and that's why amazon won't acknowledge its existence!

So dbc 14 can't release before ac13 as they don't wanna bargain with retailers, what if ac13 doesn't come up this year with no official word on game being dead?

OR perhaps ashes 2013 never existed and was nothing more than a smoke screen for making big ant the Heroes for making us a game?
This would explain the awful screens (just something thrown together quickly) and lack of ANYTHING else!

them having access to Ashes license, they thought they would cash in on this series with a crap game, thinking they own the market. Having learnt of Big Ant Cricket, everything change

They were gonna use the same build as in Ashes 09, its a good thing DBC14 came, otherwise we would be playing a cartoon like cricket game in this era of graphics

Why does this canard keep reappearing? They don't own the code for AC09 or IC10 therefore they were never in a position to "use the same build".

There is a lot of continuity of staff as Trickstar used to be Transmission and were the developer for AC09 but they can't legally use the code.

Them tricksters,,,tricking everyone into believing the game existed and transmitted lies, "early September, that and more",,,maybe they are quickly baking the game to coincide with the start of the series
