Ashes Cricket General Discussion

Without meaning to take any sides, how on earth is the current beta testing and planning to release a patch "not supporting the product"? You have a case when you talk about the timing between patches but it certainly is not "not supporting the product".

It's nearly six months after the game was released, that's how.
It's the reason that we pay a premium for the product.
Other games are much cheaper, the reason this is so expensive is because APPARENTLY their will be ongoing support in patches etc.[DOUBLEPOST=1522159261][/DOUBLEPOST]The fact is simple.
They bit off more then they could chew doing AO Tennis so soon after Ashes Cricket and tried to rush it for the Australian Open and we are paying the price for it. I am 100% sure of it. Fact, fact and nothing but fact.

Plus, they are essentially outsourcing the QA of Ashes patches to members of this forum who report bugs and give feedback on builds for free. I would speculate that the majority of their QA staff are working on AO tennis due to the fact that it has had so many patches in a short space of time.

Do AO tennis patches get tested by paid professionals or by enthusiastic forum members? I'm curious. I would suspect the former but please do correct me if I'm wrong.

For me i have no complains about guys from PC testing the product. Seeing the pre set field settings that paid professionals came up with, am sure beta guys would have a better idea about cricket for sure .

Yeah the beta guys know their cricket to be sure. It's not a criticism of them at all. It's just demonstrative of BA giving this game second class support when compared to AO tennis.

I really can't stress my utter contempt for Big ant enough at this stage. It's like an abusive relationship. They have released 3 games now that disappoint me and are full of bugs.

Each time they say things will be different this time. Things will be better. We've changed. We will try harder.

I stupidly believe them and blow 50 quid on their game, realise it's a buggy mess then hang around this forum waiting for updates on a patch that takes months to arrive, or may not even arrive at all.

I end up feeling exactly the same. Like I have wasted my money. It's been made worse this time around by the lavish support and huge number of patches AO tennis has had. Only the most myopic Big ant fanboy would defend them at this stage.

They have treated their Cricket game customers poorly, and it's not the first time they have done so. These are indisputable facts.

Am purely comparing the level of support they offer their other products with ashes
That's a different thing, right? I took you up on the "not supporting their product" phrase. Determining the level of support is another thing.

It's nearly six months after the game was released, that's how.
Again, I'm not arguing about the time frame here. I'm debating whether or not support for the game has been abandoned or not.

I would speculate that the majority of their QA staff are working on AO tennis due to the fact that it has had so many patches in a short space of time.
Once again, the manner in which the support of the product is being handled is not my point of discussion. It's whether work on the product has been abandoned or not.

“The Myopic Fanboy” is the new Marvel film character I believe......Born out of a one night stand between the Bionic Woman and Robin the Boy Wonder....his superhero power is a rotorblade that flips out of his skull...,

I see the point you are trying to make. I'm trying to argue that the quality of their support is so poor (the first few patches made the game worse by common consensus) that it can barely be called 'Support' without ones tongue firmly in ones cheek.

Technically you are correct that they are still involved in a support process of sorts. I'm saying that this support is of such poor quality that it's rendered practically irrelevant.

Big ant have a track record of releasing patches that reduce the quality of the game rather than improve it (Ashes) or releasing patches that outright lie about fixing bugs (DBC17 stats bug).

Hey Dutch. How is the latest build? Things getting improved?

Yes technically your correct but what Rhone me and many others are saying you cant really saying is, waiting for 6month after releasing the game is NOT "support". not even the "Fanboys" can possibly say this game is well supported, BA have done justice to their cricket gamers.
