@Mohammed Sherry I have heard this latest build is fantastic..
I have found that on certain grounds certain deliveries work better. The trick is to find that sweet spot and the wickets fall not unlike real cricket. If you don't find it wicket taking is can be hard though i find rotating the bowlers can lead to wickets and of course bowl a couple of overs and they will hit a 4 whatever you bowl.I do feel if i bowl slightly off i do get punished.Once you establish when is the ideal time to input your shot choice (closer to release on higher difficulties) it can be 'fairly' easy, although I do personally think the ease of slogging the ball into row z every shot is somewhat exaggerated. Either that or I too am inept, which I concede is quite probable! Batting is definitely not my forte in this game.
What I find more bizarre is the fact I personally find bowling easier and more often than not I am able to bowl out the AI pretty easily and swiftly on legend difficulty — numerous times I have had to open up the settings and double-check that I do have it set to legend. For example in the last Test match I played, I bowled the Aussies all out for 146 in their first innings. I bowled out a couple (using leg cutters with square pressed and 10 o'clock seam/triangle and 5 o'clock seam), got a lbw, an inside edge and the rest were all caught in the field, many from stupid shot choices (and this as I say, was on legend). But then what confuses me is my inconsistency of my success with the ball. I find sometimes I cannot do anything right, the AI slogs me for 6 and I struggle to get a wicket for ages, yet I play exactly the same and try the same things which see me picking up wickets usually.
Yes technically your correct but what Rhone me and many others are saying you cant really saying is, waiting for 6month after releasing the game is NOT "support". not even the "Fanboys" can possibly say this game is well supported, BA have done justice to their cricket gamers.
This is another thing I don't get. When did all this after release support become an actual, expected thing? Am I missing something?
I get that shooters like Destiny have a planned timeline for DLC content. I also know that Day 1 patches are pretty prevalent in the industry, but where is the line that has been crossed here? What's the category for good, and for bad, when talking about patches, their frequency and their size?
Pretty sure when I bought my copy of Ashes, the listing didn't say "1 game plus x amount of patches to be released on a monthly basis". I'm also pretty sure no plan for patches was documented before the game was released.
So why are people so annoyed that they haven't received something they were never promised? Is it just expectation? Or previous support for other games? As a consumer, you get what you pay for. If you don't like that product, it's your right to say you're not buying anything else from said developer/manufacturer/artist etc. You just change your purchasing habits.
If Big Ant have annoyed so many people, surely it just makes sense to avoid their products in future. In this day and age, you'd probably use social media to warn others off their products to, being vocal about your views. But I don't really understand coming onto a forum like this and pretty much demanding the game be patched.
Unless it's to patch out ridiculous 4th inning run chases. Man, that bugged the crap out of me
Not at all.
Both Consoles / PC will all receive the most generous support any Big Ant Studios game has ever received, I say that unequivocally, we have priced the ongoing support into the purchase, we don't have loot boxes, ultimate team, micro transactions or any other intentions to monetise this game.
ahem
Hey I'm just interested in debate. That's what forums are meant for, right?
Don't get me wrong, there's things I'd enjoy seeing in a patch for sure. But some of the opinions on here on the matter are pretty fierce, and the stuff directed towards the beta testers in the past has been brutal. Just wondered why there was such strong sentiment towards it all.
If nobody is assed about a serious conversation on it though, crack on with back slapping each other until the patch finally turns up

Watever say.. beta testers are doing excellent job.. hats off guysThats true.. after sales support is really bad from BA, surely this will effect them in getting more customers as point of business
Do you need a hug or something?
Are you stalking me? Btw who's the other guy?@Mohammed Sherry I have heard this latest build is fantastic..
When spoken of support, I don't think people here are expecting patch with new features added. Most of us here wants to have all the bugs cleared out. You talk about the 4th innings chase, but it has never been a problem for me cos I hardly play test matches. I play on PS4 Pro and my main issue is that I feel like I'm playing Ashes Cricket-Zombie Edition. I play a lot of T20 and whenever I get out on a cutshot which goes to mid off makes me stop batting completely. And when the batsman continue to bat after nicking make me want to stop bowling as well. And while fielding, if I have to runout someone cos their partner denies to move from the crease is a shame. And then when I have to make videos for my YouTube channel, I need to redo a complete final over cos AI doesnt know how many runs required off it. But Yes apart from all this the game is still playable. This is another thing I don't get. When did all this after release support become an actual, expected thing? Am I missing something?
