Clarke and Ponting hit centuries

Australia's Michael Clarke and Ricky Ponting have both hit brilliant centuries to get their side to 7/301 at Stumps on Day 1. Unfortuantly the rest of the batters failed with Symonds being bowled by Maharoof for 30 and Gilchrist hitting a catch to Vaas off the bowling of Muralitharan for 6

Great centurys from Clarke and Punter, to bad Symonds and Gilly couldnt follow up their great work

Australia restricted to 310

A brilliant bowling display from Chaminda Vaas has seen Australia restricted to 310. Vaas took 5/70 to spearhead the Sri Lankan attack. Although Ricky Ponting and Michael Clarke both smashed hundred, it wasn't enough to get the score over 400
