Australia in India

Why on earth is Hopes there?...i was hoping the selectors had given up the ghost on him, obviously not.

And i hope they give Hilfenhaus a run some time soon, hate to see him miss out on the start of the domestic season, just so he can carry drinks!

Ouch. Sreesanth got hit in the head!

There we go. Gme over. Good to finally have the game done and dusted. Crap shot from Dhoni, good bowling.

He bowled well. I still wonder why he didnt play in the World T20.

Youse have already had your dance for the series when the rain saved you in the first game.

I hope Gilly puts Symonds on so he can knock the glasses outta Sreesanth's helmet.

You're discounting the fact on how hard it was to bat earlier on in the day. Hence why Gilly & Hodge went so quickly.

Symonds may get his helmet rocked in the next match:clap

I Think dhoni made a real blunder by bowling first you never bowl first in india.
Both the teams have weak bowling lineups so according to me it was a shocker

Hopes carried a shoulder injury through some part of 06/07 and although he made himself available, selectors were aware he intended to have surgery as soon as he was free.

Interestingly, that ball was 142 kph. Not bad medium pace.

Now every body bowls above 140 .He does not look international material

The speed guns in india are sometimes misleading

No, not Indian bowlers. Today, except Pathan and Zaheer's initial 6 overs, our bowlers horribly struggled.

Shreesant touched 147 in the first matchand zaheer also touched 140.johnson touched 149.5
irfan touched 140

I think they bowled well we should have got those runs the australian bowling was ordinary.
we throwed the wickets we were playing t20

I'm going to agree with Ben on this, India made the right choice in bowling first and at 3/66 in 15 overs, they would probably have had any other team by the throat. There were moisture problems early on and the pitch was definitely not as hard to bat on after 40 overs.

India gave themselves the best of conditions. Their only real failing was discipline in the chase. It didn't seem like a well orchestrated operation, everyone rushing in, like Hayden admitted to after the 1st game, perhaps they were still in 'T20 mode'.

Noone was resolving and putting a price on their wicket until it was too late. Maybe Gambhir was done by a genuine ripper and Dravid caught by a surprising catch, but that leaves three names to shake your head at. Dhoni certainly has shown himself to be the strong character since his tour of England and perhaps it is his more stoic performances that have allowed him to take the captaincy role ahead of other suitors. However, it's not much good him being the rescuer as the 6th of 6 specialist batsmen, when to chase 300, at least two of the earlier batsmen need to have stood up. If he's going to stop the rot, it's best he does it from 3 or 4.

In india moisture lasts for 10 overs in the sun its not england,
Its also impossible to chase in india no matter how ordinary the bowling is.

consistently bowling over 140 is different from rarely touching 140. ;)

One good positive for India was, they ( India ) were maintaining the good run rate initially inspite of wickets falling down. If we have preserved the wickets, it would have been a close game.

Shreesanth bowled consistently over 143 in the first match
i think today the indian bowlers tried to swing the ball cutting down on pace there were no bouncers.

He did have a good domestic season. If you indeed thought that he was out of contention you only need to consider the fact that he was reoffered a contract for CA. Seems that they have high Hopes for him (classic pun).
