Australia in India

Wow, these games really arent that fun to watch. There isnt even a contest. I'm predicting 5-1. This tells you how much of a difference there is between the great Aussies and India.

Well, do not be so depressed India fans; Australia pretty much waltzed the World Cup two times running, they are a fantastic ODI unit and keep producing stars.

I feel that India need to add Tendulkar to the middle order now they have two future batting prospects in Gambhir and Uthappa to open...here is my take:

1. Gambhir
2. Uthappa
3. Yuvraj Singh
4. Tendulkar(/Ganguly based on rotation policy)
5. Dhoni(capt. & wk.)
6. Dravid(/Tendulkar if Ganguly comes in for Dravid due to rotation)
7. Irfan Pathan
8. Zaheer Khan
9. Harbhajan Singh
10. Murali Kartik
11. Sreesanth

With this formula. India can go with the four bowlers and the all rounder like originally planned. I feel Kartik can hold his own against the Aussies, he has a fine List A record and his Pro40 form has been superb, this year for Middlesex. Harbhajan was good today too, so I would play him too.

As for the batting order, I feel India can waste no time in opening with Uthappa and Gambhir. They are two of the most potentially explosive players in the team and perfect for the powerplays. I feel the strongest player should go at three and that is Yuvraj Singh. Tendulkar may not be strongest at four but it is a strong position for a strong player and he is adept against spin and could do well to play Hogg who has been destructive since the world cup, averaging 22 in 2007 with the ball.

Dhoni must bat five to groom him for his no doubt critical role in the middle order in the future. Dravid would be ideal if the team collapses or is in need of a partnership if they go 4 down for less than 100 and can hit a bit in the event India are in a good position for the latter overs.

once again the top order fails again....

whats the point having tendulkar in the squad? he only gonna perform once in a while and thats not worth having him in the aquad, flippin retire for gods sake, he's just blocking a youngster's oppurtunity!

our top order is peanuts against the australian bowling line up...

i predict a whitewash, can't see india winning a game here, even if yuvraj scores another ton...that was a brilliant innings.

Er...Tendulkar did second top score with 43; its not like he failed to contribute. He provides experience and incase you didn't notice, he bowled 4 overs too.

I also cannot see India winning a match though, Australia seem a fantastic ODI unit currently.

i cant believe that india have only selected murali kartik. shocked

He has been selected for the fourth and fifth ODIs, an other squad will be named after the fifth ODI.

Sharma blew his opportunity. Compare this with Shah in the last ODI series where he made a career saving century. Pathan is not an all-rounder. Treat him like a bolwer who can bat a bit, like Khan and Lee.
Unfortunately, this is probably exactly the way the selectors think. It's not exactly the ideal time to come in, is it? With 15 overs to go and almost 10 runs an over required? He may succeed a few times, but you cannot blast him for failing here.

Arun Lal has been the worst. The moment I heard he would commentate this series, almost pushed me to tears.

Atleast you are getting Arun Lal.We arent getting neo sports here and commentators on our great DD are Nayan Mongia,Yashpal Sharma,Atul Wasan

Once again indian selectors proved they are fools.Murli Kartik again grrr? Why not yousuf pathan or rajesh powar the left arm spinner.Who was in the probables.I am damn sure after this series agarkar will be back too.

Enough of Gambhir. He has had two consecutive failures now and we need a good start at the top of the order if we got to have any chance of coming back in this series. I would bring back Ganguly in place of Gambhir and Murali Kartik in place of Dravid (I would rest Dravid for the next match to follow the rotation policy). Ganguly and Tendulkar should open. A big opening pair, they have had success in England and need to come back again and get India off to a good start. Uthappa has a weakness and its two out of two now that he is getting out by shuffling far across his stumps.

This would be my team for the next ODI (in batting order preferrence(
Ganguly, Tendulkar, Uthappa, Yuvraj, Dhoni, Rohit, Irfan, Harbhajan, Murali Kartik, Zaheer/RP Singh, Sreesanth

If the top order had got some runs, India could have got more close today. We will also need to open with Irfan and Zaheer with Sreesanth as first change. I dont think its still all over. India can still give a good fight. Hope Chandigarh has a pitch that helps the bowlers somewhat than these two belters. Surprisingly, india has a better chance these days when the pitch does something. usually they had a good chance if it were belters. we languish on two opposite extremes.

BRILLIANT KNOCK FROM YUVRAJ! SECOND TIME (in as many matches), HE SCORES A HUNDRED AT THIS GROUND AND ENDS UP IN THE LOSING SIDE!

Murali Kartik is not bad. He has had huge success with Middlesex in county cricket. he has been bowling really well for them, and deserved the call up to the national team. But I want Yousuf pathan back sometime or the other.

How many more chances does he wants?Whenever he plays for India his performance are not up to the mark. And there are other players in domestic cricket who are performing better why not selecting them?OR we will pick only those players who are in the grade system?

And finally you saw the Real Gambhir who performs in 1 or 2 matches.;)Gambhir,Agarkar and Murli Karthik how many chances do they want?:mad

Why not Murali Kartik? He has been in fine form.

Give me a break.

we've all seen it before, players perform good in DC and play crap on the big stage, yeah murali kartik has has way too many chances...:noway

That's a positive twice we have defended big totals. Now the final acid test is those Kiwis who took this exact same bowling attack apart.

Johnson really does love playing against India, I hope he carries this form onto other Nations, Hopes is going alright and Hogg is having a field day. I wonder if we will have any changes in the bowling next game.

I have really enjoyed this series so far. Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting, Michael Clarke, Andrew Symonds - all fantastics techniques that I love to watch.

I also get the chance to see my friend, Sreesanth. The Jack Russell hasn't disappointed in this series either. Gnash!
