Australia in India

Yes well. It's her size of her heart not the size of her stature that we love about her.

As should be.

Anyway, back on topic...

An Indian victory depends on whether India can even come close to bowling Australia out which they haven't looked like doing so far.

if india win the toss and decide to bowl first and australia score a big score what we going to say then.

Stop playing cricket.Just kidding.;)

If India bats first and get all out on 100 what we gonna say then?;)

heres what I have to say...IND need to send these oldies packing...yesterday when sachin knew match was going in India's direction with Classy Yuvi was going wild and even sachin was playing well...THEN why did he play that stupid shot off Hogg?? A man of his expeirence playing stupid shot like that will let any team down.
hreres the line up for da next match if ind are to come any whre near aussie
Gambhir
Uttapa
Rohit
Yuvraj
Dravid
Dhoni
pathan
bhajji
Khan
RP
Sree

Okay.
Be it batting first or chasing we have to aim at around 6 an over.
That means an attacking yet cautious approach from the openers, beef the middle order with attackers, and leave the end for the big hitters.
I feel we did VERY well from overs 15-40. We hit a four like every over and @ 7 RPO and Yuvraj was going crazy. We need to do that again, but attack in the first PP as well.
Which is the best opening pair for India?

Ponting's field.
From the little observation I did during the first 10 overs of India's inning, I noticed this was Ponting's field.

Bowler
Gilly

Offside:
The Impenetrable Ring: Clarke, Symonds, and teh Skip himself.
Mid On/Off-NSW Quickster Brett "Binga" Lee
Third Man-Random (Clark I think)
Haydos at Slip
Leg Side
Fine Leg (?) Hogg
Randoms at Midwicket and Square Leg.

At least I think that's what it was.

With the Opening Bowlers:
Brett Lee. Spearhead. Ultra High Pace. Natural outswing, Hard to read slower one, good bounce. One of the world's best.

Mitch Johnson. High Speed. Steepling bounce. Troubles Right handers to a max. Very hard to get away, but seems less effective against the lefties.

Now, any opener in the world would find it hard against
a) such an aggressive side
b) against two superb bowlers
c) in the atmosphere of the situation.

What do we need? Someone with a level head, experience on one end. Other one a youngster, quick inbetween wickets and not afraid to take the attack to the opposition.
I say Sachin and Uthappa. Sachin for obvious reasons- The best batsman in the world, experience, ect. Uthappa for youth, talent, and aggression.
Together they would form a great pair IMO. Ghambir has had enough chances, at least for this series.
I would have asked Ganguly to open, but with the quality of this Pace attack I doubt he would fare. Slot him in at 3 if he's fit.

So here is my lineup for the next game.

Sachin
Uthappa
Ganguly
Dravid/KKD
Yuvraj
Rohit
Dhoni
Irfan
Bhajji
Zaheer
Sree/Murali

I hadn't realised how much space there is this series is until now. I'm not sure it quite needs 3 weeks. Putting most of the games on weekdays doesn't help the viewing, either.

Anyways, Dravid should be dropped for this match. Bring in KKD for his place, their styles are very similar.
7 batsman are good. I feel Rohit would have been the better number 6 batsman and Dhoni at 7, he just looks far more comfortable there IMO.

I have a strong feeling that NONE of your top three will score a hundred this series.
Ponting looked horrible yesterday.

Dude, he just got back from injury...

Wow you're already succumbing to pejoratives! Please don't tell me it was this easy to break you. My gawd, how deep in that barrel do you have to search through to come out with generalizing me with 'you guys' (demeaning me as another just one'o'those ignorant Indian) and calling me an 'idiot'. Is that the best you can do?I think my 45 year old 4' 2" mom can write better insults than that. I mean c'mon!
Generalisation is very new on this forum
Yup, but assuming that they won't score runs because they haven't in the recent past despite them scoring it over a larger period of time in the past is kind of short-sighted, isn't it?
Yes it is, just like it was said about Gilchrist. But it stil means something.

He's just come back from injury, and before that he had only played some Twenty20s since the World Cup, no ODIs or Tests and very little cricket at all. Of course he's not going to score 100 not out at a run a ball, now is he?

Well this would be my squad for India Tomorrow....

1) Sachin Tendulkar
2) Sourav Ganguly
3) Robin Uthappa
3) Rahul Dravid
5) Yuvraj Singh
6) Rohit Sharma
7) Mahendra Dhoni C+
8) Irfan Pathan
9) Zaheer Khan
10) Shantakumaran Sreesanth
11) Murali Kartik

I don't know why i have chosen Sourav and Sachin, because I can guarantee you they won't perform tomorrow...maybe even Dravid as well.

If Sachin & Sourav don't perform tomorrow, they will be out of the side.
Following Vengsarkar's warning,i'll not be surprised that these 3 are thrown out after the 5th ODI.

I don't think they will kick out Ganguly, Tendulkar and Dravid that easily. The main problem of India is their bowling, because they've given too many runs away.

Kartik was brought in to give backup to Bhajji in the match, not to replace Harbhajan. Harbhajan has to and will play. Rohit Sharma will be dropped tomorrow for Murali Kartik and India will play five bowlers. Gambhir has a groin injury it seems (gets it when his place is in danger!) and Ganguly will come in for Gambhir. Saurav and Sachin should open (successful combo) and hope to get off to a big start. If they do, we can surely fight the Aussies and stay in the series.
