What the hell is with Hodge in and Haddin out??...for the life of me i cannot understand that, im not saying Haddin wouldve necessarily done any better today but jesus Hodge is average at best in odis.
And how did Tendulkar get not out to that Bracken lbw....that was as plumb as they come!
It looks out to me, the line belongs to the umpire and his foot is on the line.

Badrinath to replace injured Gambhir

The Indian selectors have called up Subramaniam Badrinath, the Tamil Nadu batsman, to the ODI squad as replacement for Gautam Gambhir, who suffered an injury at the nets on Sunday.
The board secretary, Niranjan Shah, said Gambhir slipped while batting in the nets and sustained a right groin muscle strain, which, while not serious, is expected to rule him out of action for the next two weeks. It is not clear how long Badrinath will be with the side; the current squad is till the next ODI, on Thursday, and a fresh side will be named for the last two games.
BTW, Ponting has a right to be angry. It's really tight and you can't tell if his foot's over or not. Decision should've gone in benefit of the batsman.

Well good win from India. Surprising too. Avoided the "whitewash" although we had technically avoided it before.
I expect many more posts along the lines of "how dare they beat our fine team, Australia" from some of the more arrogant Australian fans on this forum.
As for Ponting, it was clearly out. Those decisions have been given out for as long as I remember. As I posted earlier, when you're on the line, the decision is always going to be a close one.
Badrinath comes in to replace injured Gautam Gambhir. He is a good batsman.
There go my Fantasy Cricket fortunes with my captain out.
About the match,Out with Tendulakr,he's a goner.
Badrinath could have replaced Tendular here.
Sachin could not even get his bat to the ball during the first hour of play.
He was also out twice. That 79 also came off 110 something balls-too slow.

Yes you are right.Time to rest sachin for one game atleast.

If he had thrown his wicket then india would have been 10-4 or so
I Always expected india to win if they bat first i have been shouting that we should always bat first, finally dhoni heard me:happy
I Do not think there is much differnce between the teams the toss will again be crucial at baroda
Surprising that India allowed Australia to get to 283 and then won! It was a much needed win and should give India some confidence for the coming games. The spinners did very well today. Kartik must be applauded for his efforts. He and Bhajji put the brakes on the scoring with an economical spell and got 3 wickets between them.
Sachin should be rested next game. Even though he scored 79, he needs to be rested and rotated. He batted very badly in the first part, and had it not been for umpiring decisions it would have been a disastrous day for him. Why bring in Badrinath when he has almost no chance of playing? Rohit Sharma will be preferred more automatically. Rohit Sharma should play in place of Tendulkar next match with Uthappa and Ganguly opening the innings. Zaheer can also be rested and Sreesanth can come back in his place.
Lets see how this series pans out. I guess India will take this to the final game again (as they did in England).
Tendulkar had thrown his wicket? He threw it 3 times. The umpire threw it back at him all the time. I felt Sachin was pressurized by Vengsarkar's comments on the seniors pulling up their socks and performing. Its my guess, but I feel that was what made him play the way he did. Ganguly played really well and deserved more (when is he going to get that ODI century?). Yuvraj played his part. Dhoni was awesome, but Uthappa was even more spectacular. Had Dhoni brought in Uthappa instead of Dravid, Uthappa could have consumed the 14 balls that Dravid consumed and could have scored way more than Dravid did (13 runs) and could have taken India to 300+.
That's how it should be. But I recall a few posts during the previous matches in that vein, when a couple of the Indian players had a spell of good playing. How dare they beat our fine team, Australia.
..No seriously, why would we post that? We lost in a thriller, was a good match and a great game of Cricket to watch!
