I think ICC needs to change the rules, if umpire makes a bad decision batmans has a right to challenge the call and goto 3rd umpire...just like in NFL

I read that ICC is considering this but they need to implement it soon

Yeah thats right they must be challenge the rules and also the batsmen must be spared if they show dissent. If they are not then the bowlers should also be fined for dissent when an appeal is turned down.

If bowlers were fined for dissnet McGrath would only get 10-20 percent of his match fee every game.

NFL is way ahead in terms of technology and innovation. Cricket on the other hand is run by ICC morons who favor some countries and leave the game in hands of bigger morons like Bucknor. There should be an age limit for umpires. How can a man who is 60 years old stand in the middle for 7 hours and hear and see every little detail in the match. Indians should appeal to ICC and refuse to play in matches officiated by bucknor as we all know now that he has a personal grudge against the indians and uses his "umpiring powers" to down the Indians.

Its a shame that an umpire like Bucknor is in ICC Elite Panel of Umpires. Shame on you Bucknor... Step Down and do Cricket a favor.

all i can say is India is screwed...

Sourav Ganguly has revealed that Mohammad Kaif will play in the second Test against Australia at Chennai, and that Yuvraj Singh is likely to open at the expense of Aakash Chopra.

"Mohammad Kaif will get a chance to prove his skills on the field," said Ganguly. Kaif last played a Test three years ago, when India lost by an innings and 77 runs to Sri Lanka. He scored 19 runs in that game. But his selection for the second Test is indicative of his current good form: he is perhaps the only Indian batsman in good touch at the moment. Kaif enhanced his chances by scoring a hundred in a warm-up game against a full-strength Indian bowling attack before the series began.

Ganguly also added: "There is a possibility that we may go with Yuvraj as opener." In recent times, Ganguly had expressed his preference for Yuvraj over Chopra, who was dropped for the last Test against Pakistan earlier this year, when Parthiv Patel was asked to open. Chopra did his cause no favours with scores of 0 and 5 at Bangalore.

I was watching the match till Australia were little over 100/0 and I thought they will go and score big so I turned off the tv and decided to do something else..but now I wished I should have watched the match... well bowled by Kumble, I assume since I didnt watch his wickets but hopefully will watch the highlights later on the day

2nd Test Stumps Day 1

Toss: Australia

Australia 1st Inning 235 (Langer 71, Hayden 58) (Kumble 7/48, Harbhajan 2/90)
India 1st Inning 28/1

India trail by 207 runs with 9 wickets remaining in the 1st innings

Ricky Ponting has been ruled out of the third Test against India as his broken thumb still requires time to heal. X-rays revealed that his thumb wasn't in shape to allow him to play in the third Test at Nagpur, starting on October 26.

Ponting will remain in Sydney, where the X-rays were taken, and was hopeful of playing in the fourth Test at Mumbai, which starts on November 3. "The thumb is certainly healing," said Ponting, "but there is no strength in it, and the medical advice is that I would be a one-in-a-hundred chance of being right for the third Test. Basically it just needs some more time to heal properly."

Trefor James, Cricket Australia's medical adviser, added that there could be a reassessment again next week. James also added that the examination by Ian Hargreaves, a Sydney specialist, had confirmed that the bone in Ponting's broken thumb was knitting well.

All depends on Sehwag, Dravid, Laxman, Ganguly and Kaif (and also Pathan for that matter) now to post a huge 1st innings lead to square the series. I really want to change my signature with something good about Team India.

Well done Kumble!

Looks like if Sachin comes into the team for the third test then the battle of who remains in the team will be between kaif and yuvraj. Kaif has got a wonderful opportunity to show his worth in the team.

what a comeback! come on India!! :clap

Haven't been watching this game S, but presumably to bowl Australia out for this kind of score, was it India's turn to be playing with 13 men? :D :rtfl
