Australia & South Africa's tour of Zimbabwe August-September 2014

And this is based on what? The odd test here and there? Give them a good run of home and away tours and you'll see improvement.

Uhh i'm pretty sure i listen the reasons in post where you just a portion.

And playing regular test don't make you better, it takes much more than than. If it was that simple, Bangladesh would have been world beaters by now & all test nations in cricket history wouldn't have taken so long to be good at tests.[DOUBLEPOST=1407679375][/DOUBLEPOST]
I disagree, I think Zimbabwe are better than them and have better batting/bowling reserves.

Not based on what i've seen in recent years when these two teams have played international cricket, especially in big tournaments.

Ermmmm yes it does. It's like anything in life, the more you practise the better you become.

So you're suggesting that Bangladesh have also had their fair share of test matches over the years? I don't think they have.

Personally do not feel either of Zim not Bangladesh can justify their test status above Ireland. Ireland have performed above both in recent odi tournaments and would deserve a promotion.

Btw.What did everyone making of Piedt's debut? II thought he was decent even though it was against zim on a very very slow pitch.

He bowled very well. His first delivery to dismiss Vermeulen would've got the very best out.

South Africa building on a huge lead but Zim are showing fighting spirit against the number 1 team even their 1st inns score is highly respectable.

My only worry is that Zimbabwe are prone to a second innings collapse, I've seen it happen to them many times before. If Zimbabwe can somehow pull off a draw here then it would be a remarkable achievement.

Panyangara is back, Vermeulen is back. Are Zimbabwe looking to push forward by going back? They don't think they are an arrow in the bow, do they? Tiripano is a good call up but where are the likes of Meth, Vitori, Ncube, Mpofu, Shingi and Chatara? Sorry but I have not followed Zimbabwe cricket of late. Has Querl has solved the action problem of his?

Panyangara was never gone, Vermeulen needs a decent knock in the 2nd innings to cement his place for the tour of Bangladesh, Tiripano looked very ordinary with the ball but his determination with the bat is great to watch (of course that's not why he's in the team though), Meth is in Canada I think, Vitori is injured, Ncube? Haven't seen his name around the team for quite some time, Mpofu needs to work on his bowling, Shingi was unfortunate to miss out on this test imo, Chatara is playing in this match and Querl is playing club cricket in England (not sure on his bowling action).

Day 4 is going to be crucial for Zimbabwe, if they can somehow bat the whole day then they stand a good chance of forcing a draw here. Disappointing to lose Masakadza in that last session but what a delivery from Morkel.

Zimbabwe putting up a good fight here only losing night watchman Tiripano in that first session. Sibanda looks solid whereas Vermeulen hasn't settled against the spinners.

Collapse :3
Yes, as I expected. Some good fight from Mutumbami there but it was always going to be tough against the No.1 test team.

Zimbabwe struggled against Piedt today. South Africa need 41 to win.

Comfortable victory for South Africa, the ODI's should be quite interesting seeing as Steyn, Morkel and Philander wont be involved.
