Australia & South Africa's tour of Zimbabwe August-September 2014

There was a very good crowd in for all 4 days. Saturday & Sunday obviously being the weekend but Monday & Tuesday being a public holiday helped boost the attendances.

Great !

Comfortable victory for South Africa, the ODI's should be quite interesting seeing as Steyn, Morkel and Philander wont be involved.
Phil is hardly a regular in the odi side...Abbot,De lange,McClaren and Parnell aren't bad replacements at all. Haven't seen Shezi play so not sure on him.

I would say Zimbabwe deserves some respect after that match, they did made fights and never gave up till it seemed impossible to win.Overall great performance for a team like them against the world no.1.

Panyangara was never gone, Vermeulen needs a decent knock in the 2nd innings to cement his place for the tour of Bangladesh, Tiripano looked very ordinary with the ball but his determination with the bat is great to watch (of course that's not why he's in the team though), Meth is in Canada I think, Vitori is injured, Ncube? Haven't seen his name around the team for quite some time, Mpofu needs to work on his bowling, Shingi was unfortunate to miss out on this test imo, Chatara is playing in this match and Querl is playing club cricket in England (not sure on his bowling action).

Day 4 is going to be crucial for Zimbabwe, if they can somehow bat the whole day then they stand a good chance of forcing a draw here. Disappointing to lose Masakadza in that last session but what a delivery from Morkel.

Ncube quit playing cricket in Zimbabwe, to start a coaching role at a school in South Africa. Meth is back in the country, but has been getting his family settled. I think you are right about Querl playing club cricket in England, he was over in UAE with Coventry playing cricket during the domestic season.

I'm really disappointed I didn't get to watch any of this match. I enjoy watching South Africa, and test matches against them are rare. Hopefully I can watch some of the ODIs.

Sounds like Chakabva was the only weak link in the side, he needs to find a way to score runs at the top level. Vermeulen didn't make the most of his start, but is only just playing International cricket again I suppose. :)

Ermmmm yes it does. It's like anything in life, the more you practise the better you become.

So you're suggesting that Bangladesh have also had their fair share of test matches over the years? I don't think they have.

This is an old argument that i've debated many times my friend. Will articulate my reasons to you after this tour is complete ;)

Ok sure, but can I get your thoughts on the test match?

Zimbabwe's ODI squad:

E Chigumbura, V Sibanda, B Taylor, H Masakadza, S Raza Butt, R Mutumbami, S Masakadza, N Madziva, B Vitori, T Panyangara, P Utseya, T Kamungozi, J Nyumbu, M Waller, T Maruma, S Williams & L Jongwe.

Like the other members over at ZCF I'm disappointed that M'shangwe Isn't there. But it is great that Vitori is back, and Jongwe is close to playing International cricket. (A tough assignment first-up though) :)

Yeah same here, i'd replace Kamungozi with Mushy. BTW..what's your username over at ZCF?

Yeah great to see Vitori back and maybe we'll see Jongwe play in front of the cameras :) But where the hell is Chatara? I'm assuming that delivery he received from Steyn in the test match has badly bruised his shoulder?

totoro. I know what yours is. :p

I don't know how Kamungozi continues to be selected. Sounds like he hardly turns the ball. One of the selectors must like him.

Yeah he must be injured, hopefully not for too long. :)

Well there goes Watson so Hughes will get his chance to prove the selectors initial selection wrong.

David Warner (Child)
Shane Waton (?)
