Anyone else find the telecast has been a bit shabby? They keep picking a wide or square angle and then crossing to the action late. It's kinda like they've got a trainee doing the production work.

It's nothing short of pathetic. The microphones aren't working, they keep missing deliveries to show stats/replays/different angles (See hilfy wicket). They need to borrow Ch9s crews. Sure 9s commentary isnt great but their camera work is exceptional.

Great start for the Aussies, suddenly we're not so terrible after all! All it takes is picking the right side (not that we have - it was stupid picking McDonald and North but no spinner). You've got to ask the question why Australia picked two spinners for the tour - Hauritz and McGain - and have selected none but we didn't even pick a single backup opener. As good as Hughes' season has been were we really this confident that he'd be good enough to bad up the top of the order all tour? He's only 20, I certainly would've liked to have seen Rogers or Jaques tour as well.

Good ball by Siddle got it to seam back to trap McKenize plumb. That is the weakness we saw during the Aussie summer. Before that Siddle was bowling a bit of rubbish and not making the batter play enough.

Siddle is a confidence bowler. He needs wickets to get fired up. If he isn't taking wickets, he can go for runs.

That wasn't out then Boucher missed it but the way the rules are in place he couldn't reverse the decision.

Australia have done very well in this match so far.

SA are really on the back foot. I never would have picked this.

I think Australia need a better player than McDonald though. He bats at 8, too low for a batsman and his bowling isn;t good enough to be a front line bowler. Australia are better off with another frontline seamer or a spinner. But yeah, nitpicking then they're doing so well.

Will AUS enforce the follow on. After the AUS series they may have second thoughts.

North gets his first wicket!!! Saffers in all sorts of trouble here. They were in a similar situation in the boxing day match though. So we need to clean up the tail quickly. If we manage to do that we should enforce the follow on just because of the weather.

Hehe poor SA this is like in the tennis where the opponent used up all the referrals so when a reverse could have been made it can't cause they can't refer it. Congrats to North 1st test wicket, looked dodgy but he'll take it.
