Australia tour of West Indies

I think we will have Ponting before lunch.

I`ve followed West Indian cricket quite closely over the past few years and they`re easil my second favorite side.
What has bothered me about their cricket is that the bowlers start off most test matches in a good fashion but then invariably there is a let up in intensity.
Something like that will not win you test matches against Australia as we saw with India in the Sydney test this year.
We had them at 115/6 but let the initiative slip away, only to lose the test (albeit due to other contributing factors :-))

If we do lose Ponting, Hodge will fall easily. Then Symonds will get out biffing. Haddin may show some resistance, but nerves will get him in the end. It will then be left to Hussey and the tail to form some sort of fightback. Hussey will turn it our a way a bit then finally get out making a half century and the tail folds.

The story of Australia for the next 5 years.

We welcome to the West Indies story for the last 10 years.

Test cricket in the Carribean seems a lot quieter these days.
The crowds do not seem to enthuse the same kind of energy and colour nowadays.

A Frank Worrel Trophy test match 4 years ago would have easily seen a lot more colour and noise than this one.

We need someone to do an Ishant Sharma here and test Ponting out.

Edwards will test Ricky, trust me after the drinks break, he will get a few that is why I felt he should be bowling from the end used by Powell.
As for the vibes and colours, honestly I believe that we have lost a couple of crowd pullers, namely Lara and some don't like to admit it, but it has affected the gate and also the economies in the regions these days are a bit tight, cash is not flowing like 5 years ago and persons are cutting back, I mean look outside the grounds, there seems to be more persons out than in.

We are missing Taylor, out with a side strain.

Ponting looks in ominous touch here. He is making a conscious effort to not get out edging the ball to the slip cordon as he often did in the Aussie summer.

Yep, he is settling down and that is not good for us and the bowling at this time is limited in pace so it is making things even better for him. And Bravo seems to be in a mood to feed on middle stump, going down leg, bread and very soft butter for the man.
They need to trick him with something, maybe give Jaggs a go.

Sammy has looked anything but threatening. Time to get either Fidel or Powell back into the attack for a short burst.

They`re bowling way too legsidish at the moment.
Got to get it around off stump to Ponting and Hussey.

Because of Edwards pace, he is the kind of, 5 on, 5 off overs a bowler, that is where we are missing Taylor, someone with accuracy and can give a straight 10 overs. If these 2 make it too lunch, it could be a long hard day for us.

damn it man, Taylor is out? well that sucks big time and now the bowling attack is way weaker than it should have been, god damn injuries. good bowling by Fidel but they need to get one of these 2 out soon.

cant wait to see Jaggs bowling.

lucky for Hussey, ball would have hit off-stump

So at lunch Aus 87 for 2. Ponting - 44 and Hussey - 16. A partnership of 50 from 17.3 overs, a decent come back.
Lets wait and see what Edwards can force after lunch.

ponting is looking quite good out there, hussey is out of touch, but if he stays in he gets good scores so its looking pretty bad for the Windies after a great start by Edwards

Pontong looks solid out there, from his score. Didnt really watch the match, but read some comments- too lucky to be out there ? What happened exactly ?

Don't you think its a bit premature to say "pretty bad" for us, any other batsman would have been given out lbw, it happened that it was Ponting.
I prefer to keep this clean and not look on anything other than what they are and Edwards had no support, I thought he should be bowling from the other end and thus far the Aussies have done well, I say well because by thier standards it could have been more runs, they are going at a pretty rate (3.48) it could have been more, because apart from Edwards the bowling looks rather simple.
