Australia tour of West Indies

Nice to see Australia come away with a win. Great bowling by Stuart Clarke to get us over the line. Hopefully pup will be back for the next test:D.

there was a chance for west indies and sadlt they blew it. its australia so we all knew it would be hard, but these chances dont always come around.

they dropped Hinds and included Xavier Marshall. Will he get a chance to play in the 2nd test.
I don't believe Marshall will play!!! At the expense of who?? They can't drop Morton, not in the Leewards Island, not after his first innings performance and he can field, I am a bit disappointed that they did not pick Jaggs in the 14, but I see they have Benn, honestly I have an issue with Benn at 6-6, that man should be a fast bowler not a spinner, damn lazy, and he surely cannot cut it like Roger Harper, but playing in Antigua, we do need a spinner and I don't think that we can or should put too much pressure on Gayle, just coming from an injury, where is Sammy in all this, he did play well with bat and ball, so I see they having a little tension with the final 11, more than the Aussies, our 11 might be looking lie this: Smith, Gayle, Sarwan, Chanderpaul, Morton, Bravo, Ramdin, Sammy or Benn (we should play a spinner),Taylor, Powell, Edwards.

Actually, the Windies blew it.They were in a good postion, end of Day 4.They lost too many in the First session.

They were never gonna make it. Even though McGill and Jhonson bowled pies still Lee and Clark are enough for Windies.

I agree with you, chances of that nature don't come about often, infact it has been 72 years since the Aussies have had such a start to a test innings http://content-wi.cricinfo.com/wivaus/content/story/352449.html

So we failed ourselves and honestly it hurts more today than yesterday.

If Ponting was given out LBW at 5 runs in first innings you would have won.

well if they go for a stronger batting lineup than he would be the option. If they go with 3 front line bowlers in Powell,Edwards,Taylor, Bravo (all rounder) and Gayle as the spin option they can afford to play another batsman. If they go with a spinner than obviously Marshall wouldn't play, too bad Hinds got hurt.

i hope the Windies stick witht he spinner for a bit, gives a team so much more balence when you have one, and he did get hit a bit by Symonds, but hes got to be given a chance to learn at this level

na man they already dropped him, the most successful spinner in the Caribbean for the last 2-3 years and they drop him for the 2nd test after his below part 1st career test match against the best side in the world.

thats just silly!!! he seemed to be hald decent, still had a lot to learn but he had control most of the time and bowled a wrong-un as well!, an all pace attack is fine if you have some of the past west indian bowlers, but they simple dont anymore and need the balence a spinner would bring them, they would simple be a better side if they keep faith with a spinner

Hey am not going to make an issue of this, I will be the first to say it is always disappointing when it does not go your way, I was happy that Morton was not given out on 27, but it was a clear edge and was not picked up by Dar, so it cuts both ways, I mean we :cheers and joke that we getting it to go our way for a change. Its all in the game and happy to see other umps make errors as well.

yea I agree with you, these days you cant really go without a spinner. Australia probably has enough pace bowlers to fill in the spots but they still go with a spinner, one that is close to the end of his career. Even South Africa plays a spinner who they don't use much but they still have him on the team. I too was shocked when they dropped him for the 2nd test but they did the same thing to Benn against SL, I have backed Jaggs for a while now and I would have liked for him to play all 3 tests.

A spinner will play, just that he is the wrong choice in my mind and based on our regional season for the last 2-3 years, Benn is nothing compare to Jaggs or Dave Mohammed, Dave in 9 innings in Test has 13 wickets @ 51.38 and an Econ of 3.76, but also he can swing the willow, in 8 innings: avg. 32.14 and SR of 71.65.
We have been known to kill and bury our spinners without cause, there was a Trini (again) called Dinanath Ramnarine, about 10 years back, played 12 test took 45 wickets @ 30.73, with an Econ of 2.37, today this man would have been a seasoned spin bowler, and we bury him, today I see we have fast bowlers with worst averages.
